To avoid humiliation. Better play only 3 test series versus Aus , NZ, SA, Eng in their home.Otherwise Dhoni will achieve 20 overseas loss soon. BCCI, wake up and smell the coffee. You can still reduce the 5 match series in 2018 and other series.If this is the quality of cricket India is going to play, RIP Indian test cricket. Also Dhoni should be removed as captain post this test. This is a golden chance.Shame on you BCCI.

Sir you will also lose 3-1 if you played 5 match series with England. Lucky you bailed out with 2 tests. Remember India was leading 1-0 after 2 tests just like Lanka.What happened against SA at home in ODI and test series?Bwwwaaaaahhhh.

India visiting brings in money. There is a sizable support for test cricket in England. Five test series is an obvious choice to make the most out of it. South Africa doesn't being in that kind of money so they play only 3 test series. Teams winning or losing has got nothing to do with the scheduling.

Yeah, but if visiting teams gets rolled over for less than 200 most of times, I dont think the paying public would be interested. Imagine if Bangladesh has plenty of money but always play poor cricket. As a paying public would you be interested in watching a 5 match series involving Bangladesh, eventhough they have a lot of money. I wont. Have you ever seen England play 5 match test series in subcontinent.Never. Because they know their players will be beaten badly and also the heat will break their players.So they never play more than 3 tests to keep players fresh, exception being australia. Nobody wants to pay for inferior product.If BCCI wants to keep the players interested in test cricket, they should stop this farce of 5 test series.
