Some people are being a bit harsh on this team

Not true. Traditionally, Aus, SA and Eng have been tough places for SC teams. India, Pak have each won only 5 tests in Aus and 2 tests in SA. India have won 6 tests in England while Pak won 9. Sri Lanka have won much less. Eng has also struggled in India. Only Aus and SA have done bit better all around the world.
it surprises me why pak never done better overseas despite having all these lejundary fast bowlers.

I don't care so much what SriLanka,Pakistan and Bangladesh or other team does overseas. I am more concerned about results of "Team India". Can someone post our teams Win: Draw: Loss ratio in last 15 matches outside subcontinent.

Hey idiot' date=' I don't write stupid irrational over emotional messages like you or some idiots here. I'm talking about looking at things in a rational manner rather than saying Indian cricket is dead or current players don't have any motivation to play test cricket or something stupid like that. You have to look at the context of Indian team when they play overseas and how difficult it has traditionally been before launching into a diatribe.[/quote'] point out a message where i have said Indian cricket is dead which i made? at the same time i am not happy with this performance. You do realise there is a middle ground right? Quite frankly, its your messages in general that piss me off. Who the hell are you anyways pointing fingers at those who do indeed go into a diatribe? You think a record of 14-1 should not draw any emotional outbursts?

and you know this attitude of we have been **** in the past overseas, so its ok to be **** overseas today needs to change. I dont want to know what other teams, good or bad have done. I want drastic improvement in India. There is no law of nature which says you are bad in the past so you must be bad now. This is one fecked up series where we started brightly before collapsing.

This is why in general India keeps lagging behind China. We compare ourselves to pakistan a team which has not won a single series for more than 2 years. You look at china, they were **** in the olympics. They took time out for a few editions and came with a bang. You did not have them come out and say, its ok if we win 0 medals cause we were **** during the time of chairman mao. Therefore its ok for us to be **** forever.

I'm talking about looking at things in perspective rather than going OTT like some of the threads here have been.

The truth is dude, we need to back Che Virat and Rahane. We dont have anybody else. But at the same time rather than saying oh they are all young, what can be done to improve them? Do we need to get rid of *****y flat pitches to produce a better calibre of batsman? Some of the posts reek of being content with the status quo

I was bit like Dhoni, process oriented when defending him and the teams show even when we were whitewashed in England and Aus last time. But the loss to England at home was the worst i have seen in many a context. As if that was not enough we lost in SA and NZL. Then this. I could only take so many losses rationally. I agree we should get out of the mentality that we were historically bad overseas pre 2000, so we can continue to be bad throughout this decade as well. That is not a sign of someone who learns to improve. This process thing reminds me many stock listed companies. After every failed quarter financial results which amounts to millions, the management comes and talks about what they will do next quarter, only to see more downfall. It's the same with this team overseas. Only promise and process related talk but no returns.

indian pitches need more spice, saw too many pattas in the last ranji. i remember watching this match where i believe it was karnataka vs tamil nadu and the ball barely bounced above knee roll :wall:

I'm not saying we will be bad forever and neither will I be content if they don't do well overseas. But when you take into account how tough it has been traditionally, you have to expect some setbacks in overseas conditions. Some people talk about losing in SA and NZ but they don't realize how close India has been in winning 3 out of the 4 test matches played. With more experience, India could have won both those series. As they play more, they will become more consistent overseas. Experience matters a great deal and with that comes confidence in your ability. In this series, batsmen have been found out against swing in English conditions. They need to make some adjustments and become better equipped to handle that in the future. I feel Kohli and Pujara have the ability to do that.

Don't remember the format too. The wicket at our club was much better than it was for that international match. Offcourse we had services of one of the best curator at our club.

Despite batting like dipshits, we are still in with a chance in this game as lead is just 70. This is a chance to draw series 2-2. And this is with us playing the worst cricket for a while and with England players like Cook, Anderson, Barbie, Ballance playing their best cricket for a while. And people say this England team is not sh!tty? LMAO!

Without Strauss/KP/Swann/Trott (all casualties in some way or other within a year). Also career of Cook/Bell/Prior was at stake such was their performances recently. I have never seen such a depleted England squad before.

Forget the record' date=' this English side's bowling has been fantastic. Yes our team has been pathetic, but let's not keep putting the English side down. They bowl at the right areas with pace and movement and yes Moin Ali has been pretty good too.[/quote'] They have two of the best fast bowlers of current times.
