Dhoni may quit test cricket after England series defeat

You know something' date=' most of us don't. ECB just said they want India to lay a L2 charge, [b']there was no commitment from ECB that there would be a punishment. The reason to lay an L2 charge was be cause L3 is serious and leads to suspension of a Test match via a judicial hearing.
http://www.espncricinfo.com/england-v-india-2014/content/current/story/767195.html I never said there was a guarantee of punishment, but the ECB offered to conduct an internal disciplinary process against Anderson, and it is possible he may have been "rested" for one game. Anway, we will never know what might have happened, as it turns out it was Dhoni and Jadeja who came out looking like losers from the whole saga.

This guy will not leave on his own , mark my words.neither he nor srini wants him to go.if he retires from one format, his brand value may go down, also of CSK. It sounds different India captain vs indian ODI captain.

From your link,
While a BCCI official alleges that Downton offered to 'rest' Anderson for one Test in the current series if the charges were withdrawn, and then threatened the counter-charge which was ultimately laid against Jadeja when the offer was declined, that is strongly denied by Downton and the ECB.
Nothing to suggest that it would have happened. Dhoni was sure something wrong had happened - he stood up for it. You are talking about brushing things under the carpet. Lets stick to the problem - Dhoni's captaincy.

Find it odd how Dhoni can be blamed for you team incapable of holding a bat. Cook got blamed at the last ashes for the same thing. Your batsmen bottled it, Dhoni is one the few who actually went out there and took a few shots.

Yes Dhoni if he can keep his spot as a keeper bat, he should play. I am all for accountability. If Dhoni wins his Test spot fair and square, its ok. But it would be a challenge for him as he avg 18 in Aus. Let's see.
That's better then kohli's average in England(13.4) & dhoni isn't even a specialist batsman :haha:

Maybe Ganguly hasn't won as many trophies as Dhoni however as far as team rebuilding is concerned' date=' Dhoni would be the last person I'll trust rebuild a side... I would rather trust a Ganguly.[/quote'] Short memories? Ganguly was a selfish person, we had the whole senior culture under him. He was a big quitter as well (tough times, so he goes for a hiding) It was only Chappell who came in and tried to address that but eventually he failed. And how can you forget it was Dhoni who build the team from the disaster 2007 WC.

Most of the batters have failed in one series. Kohli did well in Australia, SAF and NZ. Rahane, Bhuvi, Ishant , Vijay and Aaron are being considered as pluses for this series. Dhoni has failed as a test captain for 3 years. That is the difference. Long term failures, like Gambhir, need to go for sure. Rohit, Dhawan, Jaddu etc. are on thin ice too.
So Jaddu after one bad series is a thin ice, while Kohli according to many should be awarded captaincy despite being our worst batsman out there. At least Radeja contributed to some good parts of the series, whereas Kohli was a big zero. Some shocking logic there. And where do you get the 3 years figure? Is our victories under Dhoni suddenly forgotten or treated as failure? And even when you say 3 years, then it should be clear that our problems are far bigger than just captaincy. Get better players and stop making assumptions. Like assumptions like Kohli is a batting star ultimately cost us.

Jaddu had a bad series in NZ too, both with bat and ball.

Srini mama was more or less at the helm of BCCI affairs for last 3 years... the common threads in the last 3 years have been the coach/captain/BCCI chief.... Who will take the flak? Dhoni/Fletcher / Srini?

Massive lol at the suggestion that the "poor" batsmen were "demotivated" under Dhoni's captaincy and hence didn't perform. Whom are we kidding? Are these professionals paid the highest sports package in te country? Or are these LKG children who moan and cry about anything? Jeez, the extent people will go to defend their Dhoni hatred is astounding.

Yeah Virat should be our next captain. Would then take care of test cricket like anything. Dropping catches, averaging 13 odd when the going got tough. Running away when the team needed him to stand up and perform. Wonderful choice.

As we said, again and again and again it is THREE years of performance being evaluated. I am pretty sure you do not even know these things as you have zero interest in test cricket. Your previous post where you confused IPL finals with T20 Wc is the prime example. Stop making a complete fool of yourself with your blind support just because a player leads your favorite IPL team. You have no interest in tests and do not follow it at all. You just want Dhoni to remain captain as you have emotional IPL attachment with him

The best batsman averaged a mere 40 in the whole ****ing 5 match series. While the best 4 bowlers all averaged less than 33, with the top two highest wicket takers averaging in the mid 20s. We had just 3 good bowlers, 1 keeper and a couple of reasonably good batsmen. Tough to perform with 6 cricketeres in a 11 men team sport.

Yes, 3 years of failure vs one seriess failure, Yet you support the 3 years failure. Well done!

A whitewash of 4-0 of the till recently world no.1 team doesn't count as performance?

We are NOT talking of this one series. We are NOT talking of this one series. We are NOT talking of this one series We are talking of THREE years if failure as a captain Ostrich is someone who cannot see the simple fact that every single player in the team has been changed in the three years except Dhoni. Nothing changed Ostrich is someone who cannot see the simple fact that every expert has criticized and laughed at Dhoni's captaincy Finally Ostrich is someone who loves IPL and his state team so much that he wants the captain for life just because he does great thing in IPL
