And its not just Mary Kom but all Hindi films have been banned there since almost 15 years now. The report stated that separatists organisations felt that movies would undermine Manipur's culture, and that there is a bit of bitter feeling over Priyanka Chopra portraying Mary Kom, over a local actress from Manipur. Vilander Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 I think we should me more tolerant, they do not want to watch Indian movies so be it. It appears Korean songs are famous there, i say let them choose what they want, no political separation is possible anyway so why worry.

But mine was a more generic comment, one thing that i dislike abt indian movies are they draw too much of Inspiration, the truly good ones are original. The whole song sequence is also just one genre of movies, very embarrassing.

Correct. As a Kolkattan, i came across many of the seven sisters- both in Kolkata and going to the seven sisters ( havn't been to most of them, though). I can honestly say that they deserve better than what India has given them and from a human perspective, their demands for independence are well justified. We've treated Kashmiri seperatism and Punjabi seperatism with much more TLC than we have with Manipur or Nagaland. And we are so racist against them- almost makes me feel like a white trash yankee to their black slave descendants. We've killed so many of them, enforced total media blackouts and because they have no major players backing them (yet), its been unnoticed so far. Each and every Indian PM- from Nehru to the last one is guilty of crimes against humanity, war crimes and torture against the North Easties. And the saddest part of it all is, most of them WANT to be indians but the seperatism is fuelled by our heavyhandedness, our racism towards them (which is very pronounced) and our brutalities towards them.

Atleast someone cares enough for them- definitely wold not be the rest of India and Indians. I'd rather them being evangelist and having their basic things taken care of than being hindu and being ruled like a subjugated conquered people by india.
