How Good is Bangar and what exactly is his Role..??? how good is Bharat Arun - does he replace Dawes as fast bowling coach..is he a long term option or short term? who is sridhar , how good he is as a fielding coach- is he better than Penny?? Folks - PLease provide your views with reasons.

one thing i admired about Banger while at kings 11 was that he was able to identify the right talent from the ranjis. Banger is somebody who has indepth knowledge of the ranji circuit.

Maybe he doesn't toes line of the captain.. Maybe he's a workaholic. Maybe he brings in more professionalism... Somebody whom BCCI can trust as compared to Jokers like a Penny...

An overseas coach has been largely a liability than an asset, with exception of Kirsten who always believed in man management. The move to get in Bangar is a welcome one. We need guys who have the willpower, dedication and look nowhere further than our domestic scene for that. Bangar has intricate knowledge of our current setup, its players and hence can empathise with them identifying who can weather the storm in the long run, who can give justice to "Team India" colors and not just be a Rohit Sharma. I don't know much about B Arun etc. But we all need to understand that at this level, there is only 5-10% that a coach or anybody can add to a player. The rest through experience the player himself builds, and his fundamentals need to be built well before he's anywhere near the national team. Hence man management and identification of right talent are primary duties at this level than "coaching" in its sense. India's spectacular run of form came in the early 2000s and then in late 2000s-early 2010s... and that was because not just that we had talent but also someone played a role in harnessing this talent together and make it to a team. Ganguly was largely instrumental in creating such an environment in early 2000s, with help from John Wright. He instilled in a culture for players to play for their country - take pride in that. And to be confident, in essence they did not tinker with their basics but adapted according to their strengths. There is no further proof required than the World Cup run in 2003, where senior players were given task of mentoring juniors in their disciplines. Srinath played role of a bowling coach/leader shepherding the whole pace resources which barring the finals punched above their weight. Yuvraj and Kaif were the fielding specialists, and Tendulkar obviously played the batting mentor role. And in Kirsten era, he did exactly emulate that. Leave the on field intrinsics to the players, he cannot be really expected to be knowledgeable than a Tendulkar or a Kumble who have much experience than him. What he did was take the pressure out of their hands, soak it and help them in their pursuits while augmenting the team's goals with it. Not just that, he also solidified the feeling of team culture by bringing in Paddy Upton and that sessions with Mike Horn. The players had that immense self belief that they could do it anywhere, anytime, anybody. Fletcher's basic problem is not being able to instill this "team culture" - maybe he's just tried and failed, maybe he has not really tried. The result is a disjointed team with a ridiculous turnover. Maybe its just that we are in transition, we got to give some leeway but then its extremely hard to find what has Flletcher done so far - its been nearly 4 years and some of his effect should be visible, which is missing.

Agree about this. We need good bowling coaches at lower levels U15, U17, U19, and U22. BCCI need to hire good coaches to oversee the progress of these age group fast bowlers through longer camps at NCA so that coaches can work with youngster and prepare them for the next level. You can change things at lower levels but difficult to do that when you are playing for India.

All pacers looked good...specially shammi So bharat arun is doing well. Even fielding looked good so said har must have done Some work. Batting was superb ...may be amre did well

mohit played/hammered in two of 3 odis's in SA where de kock made hattrick of 100,,,,

With a new management team we will be seeing everything as "new" and "that's the effect of the new management" but i noticed a few things: - Fielding was electric again and more risk taking, i.e. rahane at the boundary - Bhuvi was running in hard and mohit had a little more zip. Was pleasant to see him bowl around 83-85mph (decent pace) with some fire. His lines and lengths were mostly great. Botham and co were talking about how good he looked. - Shami still has a legside issue but turned the game around. Been a while since he took 2 wickets like that and notice how he used the straighter one and bell fell for it. Maybe the bowling coach is encouraging things like that Overall positive, wait and see. Hope they help yadav and we see him bowl

Fielding was probably one of the Best - i have seen in near future .. So i seriosuly think that Sridhar has some Role in this... Fast bowling specially Shammi's bowling....Shammi was running in harder and that big issue of his run up that we have become used to seeing while he was being trained by Joe daves seems to have gone.........Seamless bowling.. NO run issue...the ball that got BELL was a Gem. even the ball that got Cook lbw was real fast....though some of his balls show 140k but they thud into the pads real quick like a 145k delivery thats where shammi looks dangerous. Did u see Shoaib kinda going berserk about Shammi the bowling sensation. Bhuvi was 127 to 133k which is still not his best as he was averaging 130k. For me Bhuvi under delivered mohit 134.5k average and 137 k fastest and with an effort bouncer..seems was motivated and trying his best though he was fairly economical but still Umesh is the more dangerous and wicket taking option. Jadeja bowled well and ashwin should be replaced by BINNY or a 4th genuine Pacer.
