For the record O'Keefe has a trashload of 50's domestically and Johnson is at 8. We don't need batting depth! The Big Head Show either forces himself in the top 6 (which he won't) or he won't play.

Lehmann has said that, Maxwell has to force his way in as a specialist bat. His bowling will be a bonus and his pies are nothing great at test level anyway

How about pick the best spinner in India who will take most wickets It is not as if Mitchell Johnson and for that matter Harris can't bat either. Johnson has a test ton. We pick bowlers to bowl sides out. I know it is a simple concept but yes it usually works.

I thought he was all rounder type cricketer in domestic format ...my bad But I have seen every country choose bowler who can bat a bit over genuine number 11 specially if they are of same skill but in India's case they choose bad bowlers who can bat so it's not same thing
