He was clearly not the same player during 92 WC and only played the tourney due to his legacy. MS Dhoni being the only other skipper after Kapil who lead us to a WC victory in 2011. He will our leader too in 2015 WC, thats for taken. But just like Kapil Paajee do you think MS Dhoni will play 2019 WC as well only as a player? I am sure even if he does, he will no longer be the captain and have to play only as a player, like Kapil did under Azhar. So dear ICF'ers do you see MS Dhoni playing for us 2019 WC only as a player just like Kapil did for us in 92?

When dhoni won he was 30 Good point VVS but you also have to factor in Dhoni's fitness. He is easily one of the fittest guy around in Indian team. So a final hurrah in 4 years time is not a distant thought, specially if he quits test and T'20 cricket.

Even if he is fit , his form will decide that. But I expect him to retire before that.

After all, the world cup is the one thing people keep pointing out when we lose test series, etc. If we reach at the least the semis he will be ok. But if we lose in the early stages, there will be a lot of pressure on him

If by chance we did, MS Dhoni will be regarded as the greatest skipper ever across all countries in the history of the game. 4 world trophies in 10 year career is unheard of.

Only then if it effects csk win/losses and their brand value will he get dropped from indian team or forced to retire from indian team. His form for indian team is irreleveant in wether he plays for India, only his csk form is relevant. Or of course complete change in BCCI hierarchy which does not revolve around csk
