If he was tested today like Ajmal and Senanayke are tested then we would have got to know the reality. I just want Steyn to bowl at 150k with the brace. Or Ashwin to bowl 9th deliveries with it

He just showed he can bowl with a brace but didn't show he is still as good a bowler while bowling like that, also in real match situation he must have chucked quite a few, but he is still far behind Chuckmal in terms of chucking

Kalia_Test Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 From what I can remember, Saqlain used to chuck doosra like hell...he was lucky that the spotlight was on Murali always...and it is funny PCB wants him to 'help' Ajmal...what help can give except advise on how to escape law? We need to remember that a bowler might be bowling maybe 5-10 doosras in 10 overs but the fact that batsmen need to be ready for the chuck any ball means that his regular off-spinner becomes more dangerous...that was what happened with Saqi...I was very very happy when Sehwag ended his career in his backyard... Saqlain was a chucker in my books...I used to love the Pak leggies like Qadir ( he was not just a bowler but an overall package with his wizard like antics,etc ) but Saqi,Ajmal and Hafeez are a disgrace

Is there definitive evidence that Muralitharan actually chucked under the current regulations? I doubt there is, because his is a perculiar case. When Murali bowled with the braces on, the surprising revelation was that he appeared to have straightened his arm - when it was not possible to straighten with the braces on. It was acknowledged that this apparent straightening was actually an optical illusion caused by the dynamics of Murali's bowling arm and action. So the fact is, whether lab conditions or match conditions, he could bowl with zero degrees of straightening and still appear to have chucked because of the optical illusion. Under these circumstances Murali gets the benefit of the doubt and the burden of proof is on his critics.
