sachin34357 Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 How much do u guyz pay for unlimited broadband
Kalia_Test Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 How much do u guyz pay for unlimited broadband I don't think there is anything really unlimited...The ones called 'unlimited' reduce speed after FUP ( Fair Usage Policy ) limits... Mine is 50 GB per month at 16 Mbps and if I exceed 50 GB, speed will reduce to 512 Kbps till end of billing period...I pay 1650 + taxes each month...Need to mention that I get about 300 rupees worth of calls too in this plan.
gslv Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 512 mbps. Bsnl wimax connection . Speed is *****y in compared to even Thailand. No better provider in my city.
Malcolm Merlyn Posted October 5, 2014 Author Posted October 5, 2014 Mine is 80gbFUP for 8 mbps.I pay 2583 all inclusive
sourab10forever Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 1 mbps..Rs 600 a month:giggle: Says unlimited but it is 92GB
Malcolm Merlyn Posted October 5, 2014 Author Posted October 5, 2014 http://www.indiabroadband.net/broadband-how/9159-snr-margin-line-attenuation-what-do-they-mean.html Thread explaining about SNR and Line Attenuation Thanks!!! a 6dB SNR means that the signal is atleast 4 times that of noise.. and SNRM is the snr above the required for the bit rate.. I dont know who posted those results, but I think thats sufficient for a bit error ratio of 1E-7 unless the margin is fudged by the chipset :--D 1. Check if your operator can increase the target SNR Margin on the operator side to about 9dB.. 2. Also check if he can install a DSLAM near your house. 3. seeing your data on attainable rate,I feel that you are using ADSL1 which is an older standard.Check if your modem supports ADSL2 or ADSL2+ and force it to that mode. 4. Finally if you are buying a new modem, you can buy one with modem + router integrated... 1.The moment the guy plugged in his test modem SNRM shot upto 23.0 and 10.9 2.If by DSLAM you mean the connection box.Its right outside my building gate. 3.The modem says its ADSL2+.I get speeds of 8mbps consistently.
Pagalpanti Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 2900 all incl 4mb - 175gb fup, pretty decent from airtel. Also they've promised 8mb upgrade at just +100, when it arrives.
coffee_rules Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 In Blore, I saw 'Hathway' cable offering R750 pm for 50 mbps. Dont know if it's real. But, that is faster than what I get on cable here in US.

Crookbond Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 One of the best broadband service providers is ACT. They provide really high speed at decent prices. http://www.acttv.in/ However, my local connection is still the best - 1 Mbps@600 per month, unlimited. F*** FUP :thefinger:
