it will get lollipop and if i was you i would have used it for one more year too like i was going to with my m7 but it had some issues so i fixed them and sold . keep iphone ..i always think s series of iphone is always not worth buying as you have major change in next year so this should feel new for 2 years ..
LG G3 got Lollipop OTA :two_thumbs_up: I am :embarassed: with what I did with my S4. I got link of ROM for Lollipop and installed it using ODIN. With some difficulty, I was able to do it and it is definitely official. Problem is that it is a Chinese build. We have option to select English as language and I did. Except some system messages and keyboard ( which I easily changed to English ), there is no issue and Lollipop is a dream on my S4. Then I realised the shock. There are no Google Apps ( not even playstore ) and even in Settings-->Add Account it does not have Google :((. Everything including maps is some Baidu :banghead: I installed some of my regularly used Apps through Samsung Store ( Galaxy Apps ) but I am not happy with this. It is an official ROM and even KNOX and settings confirm it is official. Do you know if I will be able to change this to English ROM whenever it is released? I tried Samsung KIES to downgrade to KK 4.4.2 but it won't allow me to.

Just search on xda how to flash gapps
It won't be the same sabby. Anyway, keeping that aside, assuming we get official English S4 ROM for Lollipop in a week or 2, are you aware of any issues that will prevent me from flashing again using ODIN? I am disappointed with the stupid KIES software though. Never helped me do anything useful

Yes...warranty :giggle: S4 has counter which check flashes ...anyway since you already did it just reset it and flash and I am out of touch from Samsung stuff so read xda or make thread asking this specific question ..

Thanks. I am out of warranty anyway ( did not fall for their 3 year warranty scheme ) so that is not an issue. Also, checking for flashes is OK. You can press volume down, home and power together and it shows warranty status and whether ROM is official. It shows official for me Only good thing is Lollipop is a charm and I am able to use 80% of my apps throught Samsung store. :icflove:

just wait for indian rom then just be very careful that you do not flash sd600 roms on this phone it will kill it!
Sure. Exynos ROM will be GT-I9500 and SD600 will be GT-I9505. @Velu - If you are working in KIES department, then :finger: for you and pass it on to your colleagues.

The dimple on the back of the Nexus 6 was going to be a fingerprint scanner - until Apple came along nexus-6-20_0.jpg Motorola's ex-CEO Dennis Woodsidehas confirmed that the dimple was in fact originally meant to house a fingerprint scanner, presumably allowing users to unlock the device, secure files and possibly even make online payments with a simple swipe of a finger. The reason for its omission? Apple. AuthenTec - the company Motorola wanted to use for the sensor - was bought by Apple in 2012, in preparation for the Touch ID home button that graces new iPhones and iPads today. The second best fingerprint scanning sensor company was, "not there yet" in terms of technology, according to Motorola CEO Dennis Woodside, so Moto decided to axe it altogether.

Google has apparently ended the Google Play Edition phones - http://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2015/01/dont-cry-for-the-google-play-edition-program-it-was-already-dead/ Damn you google :finger: it was the only ray of hope (apart from motorola) for bloat free devices.
for stock android experience there will be android launcher in play store .. but this is a a bad decision.. not all the developers can afford development devices if the price is above 600 usd

There's still bloatware in Samsung/Sony/LG etc. Google play edition was a great option, especially since it was available mostly on top of the range devices.
