He needed more runs in Ranji to make a strong case for return. Didn't happen. Would be stupid to take him to Australia now. I would want to see him perform consistently in a couple of seasons before considering him again

I certainly think he should have been first choice back up to SD and MV, thought he should have gone to Eng instead of GG. I dont think his last FC season was that poor, IIRC it started well enough. He should at least have toured with the A team. There are no other opening options- certainly no one who has performed consistently over a sustained period as he has. Jiwonjot hasnt really kicked on after his first season.

Mukund's technique didn't really inspire much confidence tbh. He got inside edges quite often. Vijay is improving. Its Dhawan I'm worried about, I think he is struggling because he isn't backing himself to attack from the go. Which is his natural instinct.
