velu Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 Anand needs to retire. It's shameful losing to someone who wasn't even born when he started his career. :winky:
zubinpepsi Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 both the queens gone within 3 mins of the game.. gonna be another draw..
FischerTal Posted November 20, 2014 Author Posted November 20, 2014 another berlin. they need to ban this defense jeez
zubinpepsi Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 ^^btw im not familiar with terms. what's berlins defence??
FischerTal Posted November 20, 2014 Author Posted November 20, 2014 ^^btw im not familiar with terms. what's berlins defence?? 1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. Bb5 Nf6 its the most yawn producing defense. no wonder its carlsens favorite :giggle:
FischerTal Posted November 20, 2014 Author Posted November 20, 2014 anand should have pushed for it. sicilian, petroff, heck even a marshall gambit, but damn berlin :wall:
Malcolm Merlyn Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 Anyone tell me why Carlsen got to play white in both game 6 and game 7?
Raghav_12 Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 Anyone tell me why Carlsen got to play white in both game 6 and game 7? Anand started with while in first game and Carlsen played white in second game. So Carlsen was following Anand in playing with white. After 6 games they reverse the order, so for last 6 games Anand will follow Carlsen in playing with white.
f.b.m Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 anand should have pushed for it. sicilian' date=' petroff, heck even a marshall gambit, but damn berlin :wall:[/quote'] You can't play e4 and not expect the Berlin at the superGM level.
f.b.m Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 Interesting to see a sharpish Grünfeld today.
Kalia_Test Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 Today's game ( Anand white ) - here Do or die I would think. Anand NEEDS to win this
Kalia_Test Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 Anands pawn on d file is key i guess Don't think so...there are options ( as per commies ) where the pawn can be traded... I think tactics will play a huge role in this game as it is very very open...This tactical game suits Carlsen more but as far as match situation is concerned, Anand would prefer this compared to rigid theoretical positions
vvvslaxman Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 Anand in serious time trouble :nervous: yup. But he has to go for a win by force.. So he would exhaust all his resources.
Kalia_Test Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 Worst times for breaks and the time remaining displayed seems incorrect
Kalia_Test Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 30 mins for 21 moves for Anand...chances of blunder are huge
