He has been indicted by the court, has had to resign as MP and cannot contest for 5 years - you think Modi/Shah will not use all this if he leads the campaign? The people of Bihar may not know that he cannot contest but rest assured that BJP will use every possible means to let them know if he leads the campaign. In fact I hope Lalu does lead the campaign because if he does, BJP will make him the entire issue and destroy the Janata Parivar.
he will just say they are fibbing. its not as if BJP are going to hold back with jungle raj comments

Nitish Kumar to return as Bihar Chief Minister

Speculations are rife that former Chief Minister of Bihar and JDU leader Nitish Kumar may spring back to the post of Bihar CM again this year. The JDU and RJD leaders are mulling declaring Nitish Kumar as the chief ministerial candidate to fight against BJP in the upcoming elections this year, revealed sources. Earlier, it was learnt that Assembly Speaker Uday Narayan Chaudhary and ministers Shyam Rajak and Ramai Ram will be contesting the elections for Bihar CM. But now, sources have revealed that both the parties, RJD and JDU want Bihar CM Jitan Ram Manjhi to be replaced by Nitish Kumar. According to a source, even Lalu Prasad Yadav wants Nitish to occupy the chair of CM. "Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi will be removed as his continuance is giving a bad name to the party and the government. Many leaders, including Lalu Yadav, want Nitish Kumar to take charge of the government after the merger," said a source.

According to reports in Lucknow, the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) president Asaduddin Owaisi and his younger brother Akbaruddin Owaisi have established a line of contact with the community through a couple of local Muslim leaders in Lucknow and Azamgarh. This had first come to light in November 2014, and since then, the AIMIM has been running a membership drive.

Whole SP is own by Mullayams family in UP ' date=' will not be easier in future.[/quote'] But if they merge, he would be heading a bigger party with relevance in more states. He might even become their Prime Ministerial candidate.
