rkt.india Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 India should go with Ishant' date='Shami,Aaron,Yadav in the first test.I don't think spinners will be needed for the first test[/quote'] BK in place of Shami.
brendan07 Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 India need to play Aaron' date=' Yadav, Shami, and then pick a spinner, you cant go into a test match in Australia with 2 spinners and hope for the best.[/quote'] Spinners do well at the GABBA due to the bounce. Pick the spinner that gets the most bounce
Lord Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 Spinners dont bowl more overs than pacers in these conditions. Neither they did in England' date=' so, I don't see them bowling lots of overs. A 4th pacer can easily bowl those overs bowled by a spinner who will be far more effective. A spinner wont bowl more than 15 overs a day which a 4th pacer can do. Eventually, its fast bowlers who will have to take most of the load, not a spinner. If you rely on spinners, you are doomed. You can use part timers for a few overs.[/quote'] Not rely on spinners, but it gives an option to use pacers in short bursts and go full throttle rather than save themselves for later. They'd get enough rest between spells
tweaker Posted November 26, 2014 Author Posted November 26, 2014 We should also consider Aaron,Ishant & Shami are coming back after minor injuries

You can bowl 2 in tandem while other 2 get break. Than bring other 2 into the attack and first two can get a break. No need to bowl too long a spell. Bowl them in 5 over spells, especially, your quicker bowlers. Likes of BK and Ishant can bowl longer spells.

What i intend to say is Bhuvi can easily do the bulk of bowling and do the Spinners JOb of holding on and restricting scoring. umesh and varun should bowl 15 to 16 overs each in a day and in 3 spells at full throttle. more than that I beleive is risking them. shammi or ishant should bowl 6 over spells and target to bowl 18 overs a day. this accounts to 30 + 20 + 18=68 overs and i guess rest overs can be managed by a part timer like Rohit or Raina....i guess india should get australia out with in 75 overs.

Mr Dhoni did not even use the regular So called Pace All rounder BINNY and under bowled him alll the time - bettter to use a part timer than to have a 5th bowler and under bowl him.

Captain is not answerable to the Part timer , i mean even if he does not utilise him but if a fifth bowler is there and is not used or is under utilised ..captain has to answer questions of many so called EXperts Like us...and even the bowler himself.
vishalvirsingh Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 22 overs from part timers? i said we will get them out in 75 overs so 7 overs from part timers...not 90.
vishalvirsingh Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 playing Ashwin instead of Rohit and Raina is hardly weakening batting. He has better overseas batting record than both. Guys- PLease be realistic- Many Batting wizards and genuine EXperts have called Rohit and Raina as Batting Geniuses...So lets not compare Ashwin to Rohit or Raina... even today people are worshipping his 264( i dont value it much though) Raina has sorted out his Bouncers issue and secondly Raina just needs 30 balls to score his 50...and there is a fair bit of chance that he will stay for 30 balls... yes Ashwin should be well compared to a Bhuvneshwar or a Karn sharma in batting. Many Still strongly beleive that Rohit and Raina are as good as Kohli if not better.
Lord Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 i said we will get them out in 75 overs so 7 overs from part timers...not 90. Doesnt work like that everytime.Sometimes you have to bowl more than 100 overs
BeautifulGame Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 Raina has sorted out his Bouncers issue and secondly Raina just needs 30 balls to score his 50...and there is a fair bit of chance that he will stay for 30 balls... . Also some deluded idiots will believe Raina is as good as Kohli in test cricket

Doesnt matter what people think.Records show that Ashwin has done better than both overseas.Hes better in handling swing and bounce than both. Rohit's 264 was in an ODI in India.Totally different.

You still have 2 bowlers who can be bowled in longer spells in BK and Ishant, you rotate the other two in short spells bowling alongside them. Yes, we can play a spinner dont think they are going to go that route playing 5 bowlers. They will play 4 bowlers that is why they all 4 must be pacers who are going to take wickets for you.

vishalvirsingh Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 VJ DHawan and Pujara's KPI( key performance indicators) is to eat away Maximum balls and Score some runs too - idea wud be to give a 35 ball old ball for kohli rohit rahane and saha to score off....
