I think this should be tricky: Which Batsman or rather opener has the record of getting out on the very first ball of the innings for most number of times in both tests and ODI? Which bowler has the record of taking wicket most number of time on the very first ball of the innings?
Bowler is Tuffey? Batsman Sehwag?

:two_thumbs_up: Sunil Gavaskar has record of getting out on most number of occasions on the very first ball of the test match and twice the bowler was Imran. I read somewere long back that Kapil Dev has the record of taking the wicket most number of times on the first ball of the match in Test Cricket but not sure.

Don't think so...my link has Imran only once...he might have got Gavaskar out for 0 one more time but it must not have been the first ball of innings ( also possible that Gavaskar got out on his first ball but he was not the one facing first ball of innings )

Anyone?
To count the number is practically impossible. I do however, can tell you some instances when people were injured/un-well before the match and went on to put stellar performances. Chris Cairns 102* vs India, CT 2000 final - he had a dodgy right knee Steve Waugh 157* vs Australia 5th Ashes test 2001 - he had a calf injury Tendulkar CB series knocks he wasn't completely fit before the match. VVS Laxman at Mohali 2010 Wasim Akram played through fever against India in 1999 Sharjah and came up with returns of 8-3-11-3 shot India out for 125.

What about which player has the highest # of match win after coming back to bat from retired hurt :hmmm:
This Q needs qualification Are you looking for the highest score a batsman scored while retiring hurt and still the team won ( Sachin retired hurt at 163 if I remember correctly) ? Or are you looking at the highest aggregate runs scored by a player in won matches where he has retired hurt?
