If you exclude his time as wkt, he averages almost 70 over 80 tests. This destroys all rivals except Bradman.

Don't put lara and sanga in same bracket. Lara debuted in 1990, ponting in 95 and sanga in 2000. The quality of bowlers they faced is different. younis khan (who debuted in 2000) vs sanga vs sehwag (who debuted in 2001) would be a fair comparision :hmmm:

This exposes Sanga clearly. But the blind SLs always think Sanga as next Bradman based on overall average. Quite laughable.

The problem with Sanga away record without wk is that the sample size is way to small to compare with ATG players Kohli has already played same no of away tests in AUS end nzl SA and WI as Sanga w/o wk .Sachin or. Lara have played 20 tests in Aus alone whereas Sanga has 30 tests away from home his entire career (w/o wk).That's way too sample size So no one will seriously consider him among the levels of ATG like Sachin Lara or waugh regardless of his average and stats .This not even delving into the quality of attacks faced which will make it even worse

Sachin was compared with the best always...to Inzamam during his early days...then with Lara and Mark Waugh during the middle part and finally with Ricky ponting in his final years of his career. he was never compared with sanga even once by any of the cricket experts..All these batsmen were known to destroy bowling attacks...sanga never had that ability...he himself accepted that...The only batsman that can be compared with sanga is chanderpaul...Both of them were grafters...I think srilankans have an inferiority complex ...that is why they bring up such comparisions....

Chanderpaul far more than a mere grafter When chanders gets going he can demolish attacks .That 62 ball century in Guyana was as good as any attack Lara has destroyed . Sanga never had that sort of ability imo
