And hence my point stands even more. Indian domestic teams don't have "excellent treatment" on the ground. This is NOT either/or - the focus should be on both mitigating risk and tackling when such situations happen.
Sir, no grounds in the world are equipped to deal with extremely rare, freak cases like these. Hughes was lucky (for a limited time :( ) because there was someone in the crowd who came forward to help. The probability of such incidents happening are extremely rare. The onus should be on designing better helmets that cover the prone area rather than having a team of specialist doctors on stand-by for all cricket matches that happen the world over.

I doubt the test will be cancelled.May be delayed by a day.
Yep, they have to draw the line somewhere. If they cancel 1st test, they might as well cancel the whole series to mourn and recover. Only thing is with these things, the funerals are usually a week after in western cultures....so that might throw spanner into the works.

Just need to salute the courage and mental strength of Tendulkar who returned to national duty immediately after his father's cremation. Cannot believe what must have gone through his mind at that time. Not everyone be that mentally strong, and understandably. I think the wise decision will be to cancel the first test match.

You can understand the effect of the blow that whole Shield round was cancelled even before this news.
