Raina, Dhobi only finish others not consistent at all and don't see that changing in Aus. no ifs no buts Kohli has to be in his best form or India is gone :nervous:

Logic says that the extra 4 players ( apart from likely playing 11 ) need to include 1 WK who can actually double as pure batsman if somehow 2 batsmen are injured , 1 extra batsman and 2 extra bowlers. My take :- Dhawan Rohit Kohli Rahane Rayudu Raina Dhoni Uthappa ( backup WK ) Ashwin Jadeja Bhuvi Shami Ishant Yadav Mohit Sharma - We will not have backup opener problems as Rohit, Dhawan, Rahane and even Uthappa can open if needed - Very very unlikely that we will play more than one specialist spinner in the playing 11 so no need to carry anyone else other than Ashwin and Jadeja who can hold a bat. - I would be inclined to go with Jadeja rather than Ashwin simply because we have option of off-spin in the form of Rohit and Raina and need someone who takes ball away from right-handers Unlike last time where we could sort of depend on Yuvi to bowl 7-8 overs ( in SC conditions) , we may not be able to go with 6+1+4 combination :((

Most of these guys have more than 50 odis under their belt ,the bowling looks rookie but they have performed in the big stages like ct,wt20 etc .only thing that worries me is that they haven't played in Australia that is why this tour is very important

Gambhir should have been there as well and could have tried as a back up opener in the tri series. Parvez rasool? What has he done now? This Quota selections make me sick. All in all a pathetic 30 member squad and get ready to be spanked in Quarters. Also might lose that game against Pakistan and in the process our streak will be broken. Pakistan team on paper much stronger (in terms of experience) And ofcourse, there will be no Sachin in the World Cup for the first time since I have started watching cricket. Rubbish team :((
G_B_ Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 i think umesh Ishant shami and bhuvi will have sufficient ODIs under their belt. I define 40+ Odis as being sufficiently experienced at international level. its not as rookie as people make it out to be.
