I think that wicket of Rahane was the turning point of the game. A very poor decision at a crucial juncture of the game. If Rahane would have stayed back with Kohli, I have no doubt we would have won this game. I know we are to be blamed somewhat for not accepting DRS but that is no justification of the howler that Rahane got. DRS only gives you 3 reviews, so it is restricted any way. This test match has startling similarities with the Sydney test back in 07. It was Bucknor who robbed us back then and now Erasmus. Big Question is - Can we do in Brisbane what we did in Perth that time immediately the next game?

DRS gives you only 3 reviews. So it does not eradicate wrong decisions completely.
It gives you three chances to review incorrectly. Dhawan and Rahane's reviews would have been successful as they are umpiring blunders

no BCCI did.Kohli agrees with no DRS too so cant complain
Kohli has to toe the party line. He can't come out and say he prefers DRS when his bosses don't but yeah Erasmus was as much a disaster for us this Test as Bucknor used to be earlier.

Also, the over appealing by Lyon and Haddin was OTT. Match referee need to have a word with both of them. That might have caused pressure on Erasmus, who knows. Mark Taylor was criticizing this over appealing big time in Comm box.

you got to be kidding here. you're conveniently brushing aside all the decisions he gave in favor of india during the 4th innings. vijay - plumb lbw not given when he was on 24 kohli - even plumber (if that's a word) lbw not given on 85 if anything, erasmus + BCCI delayed an obvious indian defeat...

And you must be joking when you see that the umpiring errors were 7-2 in Aus' favor by the end of the match.

Agree. Though Kohli's lbw didn't look so obvious in real time, particularly with Lyon bowling around the wicket

OP was just focusing on the 4th innings errors here... in any case, can't cry about decisions when you're against DRS. have to deal with whatever decisions that come your way.

DRS or no DRS, umpiring error is an umpiring error. No DRS doesn't give umpires "carte blanche". And yes, errors in 1st innings of the Test count as well.

Hes big enough to say his mind atleast in an indirect way.Its not like they'll drop him if he says he likes it

You will be hard pressed to see anyone disagreeing with their employers. That's how it works. He may not agree with it privately but you will never get to know about it. Officially every Indian player has to say they support BCCI's decision.

I'm all for mistakes. They happen but when the error count is 7 or 8-2 in one team's favor you have to stop and look.
