Trundler27 Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 After watching Kohli lead from the front in this match I can't help but get the feeling that once he does take over from dhobi as our test match captain, we will start winning overseas on a more consistent basis again. Kohli's attitude is kind of like ganguly where his confidence as a leader rubbed off on his teammates over time and the best thing about him is the fire to win which is not kept hidden under the guise of being 'cool'. He has openly stated that his captaincy is aimed at playing aggressive cricket to win games and be ruthless. To that end he is even willing to take risks with his team selection. This is what makes a team feared by opponents. When they know that the opposition will go for a win regardless of what the situation is, then the other team tends to become more defensive. My hats off to M Vijay for his outstanding committment in this game as well. Hope Kohli's time arrives much sooner than later
zep1706 Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 Could not have said it better. It's a real shame that we go back to the cool captain again after such a show from Kohli. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
sscomp32 Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 I want Kohli to take charge from now. I know its not possible but i can dream alright.
ThePhenomenal1 Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 Absolutely, kohli made me proud and i never doubted him. Even though he failed in england, i wanted him as captain. You can tell defensive captaincy screws everyone's head up as well.
JaFanatic Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 I want Kohli to take charge from now. I know its not possible but i can dream alright. Oh pls tell me you are not sscomp's nephew
sscomp32 Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 Oh pls tell me you are not sscomp's nephew LOL. :haha: Its real. MSD is not a test captain.
MCcricket Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 Kohli could be India's greatest captain, I loved his attitude n it will rub off on his team, brilliant innings to back it, only thing he should have waited a bit longer n then attack as 70 runs in 10 overs now is possible also if wit falls the tail has to face fewer balls to save the test but kudos to him
Pagalpanti Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 I've realized one thing though, who-ever takes over Indian captaincy, our bowling is just hopeless. I haven't seen such a *****y bowling attack ever. Not one bowler can be banked upon. Unless its a slow-low turner we just can't pick wickets.
Cricketics Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 I can't wait really. Yesterday, showed how captaincy role might better his performance. It's still too early to talk about it, but it's something to keep in mind. I can't wait and I am sure Kohli will be an excellent captain. He will create history when he win test series in South Africa, something which has never been achieved by us.

When he does become captain he could start by making sure the PoS nohit sarma never comes near the Indian team again!
