KARACHI: Pakistani star all-rounder Shahid Afridi has termed South Africa, Australia and New Zealand as World Cup (WC) favorites, which is scheduled to start in February 2015 in the Down Under, ARY News reported. Addressing a gathering in the city, the Pakistani cricketer said World Cup’s first match was always important. “We will change the history in first match against India,” said Afridi. And how many time has Indian been thrashed since 1952? I would take 60 years of dominance over 5-0 in the World Cup anyday. You can say world cup wins are more important as much as you like to make yourself feel better but at the end of the day a world cup match is also useless unless you actually go on to win the world cup. India did that once, after 59 years of cricket. Congratulations to you.
