Desi Cartman Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 "As per the protocol, when the national anthem is played, the Principal Dignitary and persons in uniform take the salute. Those in civil dress stand in attention. "During the Republic Day Parade, the President of India, as Supreme Commander, takes the salute. As per protocol, the Vice President is required to stand in attention," Gurdeep Sappal, Joint Secretary and OSD to the Vice President, said in a statement.

G_B_ Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 Welcome to Modi ideology - this was broadcast on DD controlled by Modi. Mussalman ho to desh drohi ho. ridiculous they showed Modi saluting the flag along with the President Mukherjee. You want them not to show that? It was an important moment when the flags were hoisted. Ansari just happened to be in the shot. Its not as if they specially showed Ansari not saluting the flag.
asterix Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 ....And the topic successfully derailed... However the OP is a non issue... The VP is in his right to Salute or not. He's not required to Salute the Flag...
Number Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 . However the OP is a non issue... The VP is in his right to Salute or not. He's not required to Salute the Flag... I agree. Jajbaati patriots going after him for a non-issue. Its almost as bad as pseudo brigade start throwing its kitchen sink at Modi for anything and everything.
cowboysfan Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 reading these comments makes me sad.you guys tend to get butt hurt by inconsequential things,i see the same in US politics where everything is deeply divided on ideoligical grounds and there is no middle ground.
