Just look at the way MS Dhoni pushed himself up the batting order in the 2011 final as a prime example of that idea," Fleming wrote in a column for the International Cricket Council (ICC) website. "Dhoni said it was an instinct that it was his time to lead from the front. Positivity and decisiveness like that can galvanise a team whereas hesitancy can flow through each player and create paralysis," said Fleming. "And in World Cups, where the matches come thick and fast and momentum and winning confidence can be crucial, that is a key point to remember."
Sachin=GOD Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 Does he mean they should not contribute at all till the Final and then take someone else's batting spot in the Final?
velu Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 Does he mean they should not contribute at all till the Final and then take someone else's batting spot in the Final? as far as not getting out in 1st over then it is ok :cantstop:
Mindreader Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 If dhoni has guts, will he emulate it on australia pitches like promoting himself?
Texan Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 Does he mean: "Lose 8 consecutive away Tests after winning the World Cup?"
putrevus Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 "Dhoni said it was an instinct that it was his time to lead from the front. Positivity and decisiveness like that can galvanise a team whereas hesitancy can flow through each player and create paralysis," said Fleming. This is biggest bunch of bullcrap, how come he did not lead from front in quarters against Aussies by promoting himself while chasing and Yuvraj was there to save his bacon. Gambhir played the most vital knock in that final, If Yuvi had come in place of Dhoni he would have sealed the deal too. Dhoni is great odi player but he did nothing till then aand since he was the captain he had the luxury to present himself a chance to do something when others could have easily finished the job.
Marut Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 Copying Dhoni would be a bad strategy. Each match must be played on its own merit.
