fineleg Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 Given that many of their bowlers screwed up, they will be really happy to escape with a Draw here, and have the series open. Will it be a big boost to them if they draw calcutta? QUESTIONS: 1. Do you think they can draw here? 2. Will it be a boost to their confidence? Pls. post your views.
Gambit Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 2. Will it be a boost to their confidence? No. Pakistan will be terrified after the draw. :bird: LOL. When do you question the bleeding obvious? Which team will not be on a high after drawing a test from 150/5 after conceding 616? :hysterical:
fineleg Posted December 2, 2007 Author Posted December 2, 2007 I am not questioning it. IMO - it will be a terrific boost to their confidence, and they will come back real strong at as in Test-3 if they escape from here. Thats why the question 1 was also asked (a prediction for Test2)... We really need to wrap up the series in Calcutta, but these two stubborn players are resisting (MBH and Akmal)... (previously it was Akmal and Razzaq at Mohali who snatched Draw from what should have been a clear Indian win) Not only will it be a big boost for Pak if they draw, India will be very disappointed and down. Cmon India - go on and please wrap up this Test.
Chaos Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 munaf and zaheer arent any good in indian pitches. they r fckin terrible
Cricketics Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 a wicket or two.. and a follow on comin soon..
fineleg Posted December 2, 2007 Author Posted December 2, 2007 a wicket or two.. and a follow on comin soon.. It really depends on when? those two wickets come... 315-5 - IMO - not much left for follow on to be enforced.
Cricketics Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 well btw, i don't think even we should enoforce the follow on if we get a chance.. no use.. bowlers tired. if they bowl again i reckon they would give away easy runz and would make the game look an early draw
fineleg Posted December 2, 2007 Author Posted December 2, 2007 well btw' date=' i don't think even we should enoforce the follow on if we get a chance.. no use.. bowlers tired. if they bowl again i reckon they would give away easy runz and would make the game look an early draw[/quote'] Yes. Basically the chance of a draw has increased tremendously. Bit ridiculous...150-5 and now 316-5... India is the expert in letting the pressure off and allowing opposition to crawl back in.
Dhondy Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 Fineleg, why post something that everybody knows anyway? Let's see some analysis from you. How many times has Akmal played match saving or match winning innings for Pakistan? What's his record against other countries? What sort of bowler is most likely to get him out? C'mon, let's get you to do some work. These inane, anxiety-driven, hysterical threads (not this one in particular, but there are several others floating around) do you no justice at all.
Rohip Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 one more wicket and we're into the tail. there is no way they will ever reach 600. i predict they'll be all out by lunch tomorrow! we'll knock up a 350 lead by tea on day 4 and bowl them out by tea on day 5
fineleg Posted December 2, 2007 Author Posted December 2, 2007 Doc, You want to be the stats guy. Please be so. I can understand the point you make, but I'm not going to take orders from you on what I can or cannot do. (basically i'm saying 'orders' because your "tone of voice" being irritated and all that sounds like you are trying to shout me down and i'm offended by that tone of voice). I am expressing a certain frustration in letting the opposition slip away time and again by our bowlers in this thread.
Rohip Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 Didnt kamran hit a 150+ against Eng? I followed their last test series vs SA before they played us and kamran hit 50s in both innings of the second test he's a good batsman but only in asia, id like to see him score in Aus, Eng, WI or SA
Shehezaada Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 they aren't going to win the match. Even if they get past the follow on, if we get 55 overs to bat tomorrow we can easily rack up around 230 runs..with a lead of 150, that's dynamite. Set them around 380 to win on the last day and watch them fall over
riya Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 India should win this match.A draw is as good as a win for Pakistan .They will be back strongly in the 3rd test .These things should happen .Otherwise what is the thrill in watching onesided matches.
The Outsider Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 riya are you rhea from another forum? Welcome aboard!
Ram Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 Simple fact, Pakistan will lose this. No one could possibly expect them to be bowled out for 210 and 170 in the two innings. It was just a matter of time before some parts of their batting line-up will click. I expected a fightback from them, but am a bit taken aback by the scale of it - double century partnership, 2 individual centuries.... Pakistan is now like a pray thats caught between the jaws of the predator. It will die soon, but its putting up a spirited fight.
