Sid Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 Considering its at Perth and Windies do have good seam bowlers to trouble Indan batsmen on that track,it would be a great test for us before the knockouts.Add to that Windies batting is deep ,they all may not be quality ,but surely destructive. Yes India has got off to a great start but this match will not be that easy. Looking forward to this clash.

Stuge Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 Windies bowling has been poor IMO.Even sides like Zimbabwe were able to 280+ in 45 overs.They lack quality spinners for middle overs.

But I feel Indian batting is much better than WI and more consistent but WI have batsmen who could really change the game on their day. Our spinners may also not be that effective at Perth. We have to see how the pitch plays out. If the pitch has pace and bounce, it will also help our seamers more who have been very good so far. It will be interesting to see how they fare if they bowl first without the help of scoreboard pressure and how our batsmen chase a target which they are usually good at.

Spinners will be slaughtered at Perth :D

Ind has relatively consistent batsmen, while WI has unpredictable ones who can turn the game on its head on their day. WI's lower order is stronger too If WI batting clicks on the day, WI will have the edge. No need to say that Ind bowlers will have to bowl extremely well and look to pick up wkts

Completely agree with you.And actually I think our chances of winning will be better if we will chase against them,considering how they defended totals against Ire and Zimboks,unless one of their hitting monsters completely outbat us and post something huge.

adi B Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 windies bowling is not as poor as many here feel.if they get some purchase of the wicket or movement in the air their pacers can come handy.holder and taylor are good new ball bowlers so india needs to be careful while facing them especially at perth.russel is decent but india should look to capitalize on the overs from sammy and the spinners. i hope dhoni learnt his lessons against england in the perth odi that playing two spinners is not a good idea on this concrete slab,better to play binny and drop a spinner,a fourth seamer will always come handy at perth

zen Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 Isnt it logical that team holding the edge is most likely to win :P Teams can hold edge on paper as SA and WI did against Ind and Ned respectively, but the other teams won Aus and NZ will hold the edge vs. their opponents in the tourney, but they could be knocked out :P
