Its ironic failed cricketers like Manjrekar, are on the panel to choose the best ODI player. :giggle:

CSK Fan Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 one of our beloved ICFer always quote the words of experts/players to prove sachin is the greatest.. like to know his opinion now , bcoz absolute majority of those cricket experts picked viv :fishing: Greatest ODI = ViV Greatest test = Bradman Greatest of all time combining both = Sachin BTW, all the XIs in which Sachin is figured were all tests. And all the discussions we had were not around ViV or Bradman but around players like Ponting, Kallis, Sangakarra, Lara, etc. He has trumped them all in this one too, hasn't he?

Viv played in a tougher era with more bowler friendly pitches, bigger grounds, better bowlers and lesser bats. Sachin is an ATG but he was never really a match winner considering the number of games he played. In fact Kohli and MSD will go down as bigger match winners once their ODI careers are over. I dont care about such polls, but lets look at the highlighted point. how many of the top bowlers of that era played against Viv? Hiw batsman friendly were 90s pitches, relatively? Also refer to recent posts by Gambit and Marut.
