Malcolm Merlyn Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 Jaggu is just a compromise candidate Not exactly.Dalmiya had backing of 4 of the 6 Eastern zone association.Srini had two and Pawar none.So there was no way Pawar could fight the election.If Srini had put up a candidate againist Dalmiya and voting would have ensued Dalmiya with his own backers and Anti Srini votes would have sailed through.It would have also meant that other Srini candidates would have lost as Dalmiya and his backers ould have voted for Pawar candidates for other posts. Because Dalmiya wasnt opposed by Srini Dalmiya and hs backers voted for all Srini candiates except Thakur.Thakur was totally backed by Dalmiya. This election was the most faction ridden election,so much cross voting happened that none of the posts had the same voting numbers.

It will be game over for Dalmiya if these two join hands. He will be a lame duck. A king without a kingdom. A figurehead. Srinivasan reminds me of Johnny Sack in the Sopranos. Was the voice of reason as the under boss , but lost his mind when he became boss.

Clearly you have no idea.Anurag Thakur and Dalmiya are working together and they control a large number of affiliates and one of the reason to snub Srini was to show his allies that he no more has any power to get things done at BCCI.The two most powerful positons in BCCI are Secretary and President who control all the finances and nothing can be done without them. Neither Srini nor Pawar hold any posts and there isnt going to be any election for 2 years so it wont matter if they have some votes.Srini is untouchable at the moment and a certain Amit Shah is working behind the scenes to make sure life is hell for any Srini supporter in BJP ruled states(Google about cases againist GCA President). As long as Dalmiya is President and Thakur secretary Srini and PAwar cant do ****. Srinivasan reminds me of Johnny Sack in the Sopranos.
