Stuge Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 I just want India to win because of Bengalis reports that Nasir Jamshed twitter account got banned ? Really
TNAmarkFrmIndia Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 Can our Indian folks stay humble please. I don't think their players are making too many statements. Even their fans are staying humble as no one expected them to reach QF. But as usual' date= most of our fans are motormouth. :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical:
CricketWise Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 MSD and team must stay calm and focussed. No point in getting over confident, guys like Dhawan Raina and Kohli are prone to that. We all know what happened in 2007, those memories still haunt me.
Roshanrocks Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 does it matter what fans say? ultimately the player performances on the field will influence game result. We have all kinds of fans either side of the border
shakib_hero Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 Lol... Then how will you guys take it after you lose the match?
satishg Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 Those who understand Tamil https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=444287362390718 :hysterical: That was some awesome editing work :haha:
Pakistan Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 You guys should win but they can be dangerous if you take them easy.
vvvslaxman Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 You guys should win but they can be dangerous if you take them easy. You are talking as if ICFers are playing :winky: . Ofcourse India will take them seriously.
bengali333 Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 No one is expecting Bangladesh to win. But we have 20% chance to win. We are just happy that our first generation of post test status cricketers are starting to bloom (and they are in their mid to late 20s). Statistically in the last 15 matches between India and Bangladesh , it's 12-3 in favour of India. So India has a win percentage of 80% against us over the last 10 years. But we are slightly improved now. In WC history it's 1-1. So as I said earlier we have a 20-25 % chance of winning.
Detonator Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 They qualified for QF and it's anybody's game :dontknow:
bengali333 Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 Anyways it's not a crime to think positively before a battle no matter who you are facing. India has a 100 year cricket history and is a country that is several times our size both in area and population. Your cricketers may have more ability and exposure but that should not stop us to dream. In 1971 when we got out indepence, the then US Secretary of State Kissinger thought Bangladesh would be the "international basket case" as West Pakistan had all the industries and resources and it was a huge mistake that we separated. But we dreamed that if we were not discriminated against we would flourish. Now we have an economy growing at double the pace of Pakistan's economy, have foreign currency reserves that are 50 % more than what Pakistan has and we export significantly more than Pakistan. Plus our Human Development index is better than both India and Pakistan and we have some of the largest NGOs of the world in Grameen Bank and BRAC.

But bangla fans go over the top. I posted a thread here where they say they beat india and send home. I am ok if they say we will beat but they make these chest thumping comments like we will send them home. Bangladesh also need to work securing their minorities. I will diverting this thread If I add more comments about social issues.
bangladeshifan Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 Ppl getting too emotional over a match of cricket

No need to convince anyone here. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

We respect what you've achieved in the past 40 odd years. The problem is having a chip on your shoulder and a deep-rooted ego problem, something which seems to be plaguing your country of-late.
bengali333 Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 Bangladesh also need to work securing their minorities. I will diverting this thread If I add more comments about social issues. Just an off topic post. Unlike Pakistanis who are muslims first, we are Bangladeshi's and bengali first. So I know Pakistanis don't care when a punjabi like Harbhajan plays for India, but we kinda still feel proud when Ganguly leads India. So please don't confuse us with Pakistani's. Yes even in Bangladesh there is 10% -20% religious extremists but they will always be in the minority as bengali nationalism trumps it. Even compared to India's society I think we are a more secular and tolerant society. Unlike in India (where there are muslim neighbourhoods), we don't have any segregated areas based on religion. I see so many of my friends with hindu girlfriends which I have rarely seen among my Indian friends. Even in the Bangladesh team, Soumya Sarkar is a hindu and no one sees him differently. In fact are just waiting for the debut of our new batting sensation Liton Kumar Das.
