ravishingravi Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 On paper, this team doesn't look world beater. The bowling is not the best in the tournament but they have done okay. The batting is too dependent on Kohli. If India goes 10/2 then I think getting 250 might be a good achievement. Raina is a sitting duck against decent fast bowling. Today's match just further pointed out that it will a take some good luck and humongous effort to win 2 knockout games. I am proud of India's perfomance and am happy if they reach semis and fight there. In my wildest dreams, I didn't imagine this level perfomance.

Dhoni and Raina's confidence would be sky high after this. This match was needed for us to take a serious look at ourselves. Spinners need to go back to the drawing room. Rohit needs to go back to India. Kohli needs to work on his game. Jaddu has to develop his batting too. All in all - best match for our preparations.

Don't have much hope from rohit but if we scores then nothing like it.\ Also, lets just assume that this was an off day for Ashwin. If we are to beat teams like NZ or Oz, then we need a crafty spinner. The way he has bowled till now, he can be a handful for them.

The only thing is the game would be in Sydney which can turn so that can be an advantage for us. But considering the state of pitches right through the WC, it could be another run feast..

Both Jaddu and Ashwin were poor even last yyear in NZ. It is not easy to clear spinners on bigger Aus ground and their pitches have provided some assistance too. Can't compare Ashwin's performance to NZ and Aus.
