He will be back in test matches. Pakistan play lot of test matches. He might be even back for twenty20 world cup.
He already retired from test. He will retire from ODI after winning this World Cup and he will play T20 until next T20 World Cup.

I know some of posters have their grievances with afridi but as this is his farewell thread....
The only grievance we have was that he never did justice to his immense batting talent. I still remember reading about a 16 year old smashing 100 in 37 balls vs SL. It was unthinkable in 1996 even though Jayasuriya had done something extraordinary just a few months earlier. Pak had an awesome team then and it seemed like they had an endless reservoir of talent.

Leaving Test Matches was a mistake. He has a decent avg in test and would have helped other aspects of his game.

Those calling him names wouldn't be saying the same if he played for their team. Or maybe they are still butthurt over his performances... Anyway, he will be missed. There hasn't been anyone like him and there never will be. Pollard, Maxwell are wannabe Afridis.

He shouldn't have been in team after 20 matches in any test playing teams, I doubt even minnows will tolerate him for all the controversies he created

Yes, it must be really frustrating for Pakistan fans like you who saw him wasting his talent for 20 years.

Lol @ people who think he will retire
Yeah. I won't be surprised if he replace Misbah as ODI captain for next odi series. and we here statements like. "Someone has to put his hand up and do the job. Being the senior player, I put my hand up" and my team down.
well he retired twice already and you are still here
I was about to post this....lol
Next day a new era of Afridi will begin lol coming out of retirement.
The first time he retired was from tests and just came back for one test because PCB forced him. That is well documented. Second time he 'conditionally' retired with conditional being the keyword here during Ijaz 10kg Chips Butt era. After he went, Afridi took his retirement back. This time he is retiring. He never backed away from his words. Its the media and some people who want to see the side of the picture that is suitable for them. :icflove:

You either die as a hero or you live long enough to be Yuvi to get stones pelted at your home. Its good that Afridi and Misbah realized that unlike a shameful individual younis khan.

Well, In his early days I think he was one of the batters who every other team feared. But he has his days. Thanks to PCB politics, Afridi has been unceremoniously retiring and re-retiring for some time in various formats. However somewhere I think he too deserves it. I remember him dropping Shoiab Akhtar in last 2011 world finals while the guy just wanted a deservedly farewell game for his services to Pakistan Cricket. So yes. he will be last Rock Star in Pakistani team. Rest all, current Pakistani players are as famed as Nawaroz Mangal

Don't give a sheet whether this douche bag retires or stays on. I really hope and pray this retard stays on. I don't know who is the bigger fool, Afridi himself or the fans/country he managed to fool for 15 years. No where else could this imbecile be a celebrity. OTOH, Brendon Taylor's retirement is the one worth talking about.
