Invasion 550 Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 End of an era, really. Cant believe i will be witnessing lala's farewell. This would be a sad day for many pakistani fans and cricket fans in general. A great entertainer with his high and lows. A career filled with many happy memories. I know some of posters have their grievances with afridi but as this is his farewell thread, lets keep it a bit sensible, please? Be Afridi, be very Afridi. :((:((
adi B Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 tbh,i'll miss lala,what an entertainer :hysterical:

Cricketics Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 He is their T20 captain till 2016 :hysterical:.Dont worry OP you still have some time to enjoy Afridi and his head & shoulder silky hair. Yeah. I won't be surprised if he replace Misbah as ODI captain for next odi series. and we here statements like. "Someone has to put his hand up and do the job. Being the senior player, I put my hand up" and my team down.
sweetaskandy Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 Still playing T20s. Top entertainer, decent cricketer. Handsome fellow. He has it all.
ThePhenomenal1 Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 one of the few pak cricketers to have a larger than life presence, just like most of the indian team. entertaining guy
zen Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 If Pak loses the QF, Afridi will announce his candidacy for captaincy and promise that he will lift the cup in 2019 :P
sweetaskandy Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 one of the few pak cricketers to have a larger than life presence' date= just like most of the indian team. entertaining guy Only MSD has that in India's team.
Muloghonto Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 One day Afridi will go and I shall miss him. So much talent. So little control over emotions and instincts. A very enigmatic player and cricinfo encapsulates it perfectly: it took us nearly 10 years to figure out what his stronger side was- batting or bowling. A highly underrated bowler, who on any surface offering the remotest of spin or variable bounce can be a very good 5th bowler. Also, Afridi is a very very good fielder. Not so flashy as Yuvraj/Kaif/ABDV at their peaks but a strong runner, good slider, very very safe and flexible catcher at the covers and square leg areas. Lala is the last of the mavericks i think- he is that kind of player who did everything just well enough to hang in the team and once a year produced a performance that singlehandedly carried the ODI team to victory- with his bat or ball. Very Ekki type player, very entertaining.
Muloghonto Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 Only MSD has that in India's team. Virat is almost there too. Its hard not to be larger-than-life figure if you are mega sportsman in the biggest sport a nation follows. Happens to soccer players, ice hockey players, etc.
Vilander Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 Only MSD has that in India's team. Kapil,Sachin,Ganguly,Dhoni,Dravid,Yuvraj,Virat..its a big list in India..
sweetaskandy Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 Kapil' date='Sachin,Ganguly,Dhoni,Dravid,Yuvraj,Virat..its a big list in India..[/quote'] This team, man. All but 2 of those guys have retired. Kohli doesn't have that magnetism yet. MSD does.
panther Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 I think I will stop watching cricket if he retires......
Laaloo Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 I think I will stop watching cricket if he retires...... well he retired twice already and you are still here
vijay50 Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 well he retired twice already and you are still here :giggle::two_thumbs_up::two_thumbs_up::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical:
ThePhenomenal1 Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 Only MSD has that in India's team. kohli, dhawan, raina to some extent, even yadav and shami have a badass aura. MSD is the big one above all but current team has a few more than just 1 guy. yuvraj had it i guess its not most of indian team but overall they are larger than life, very exciting. that's one of the major reasons english cricket is boring, no one interesting really, used to have kp, flintoff
