Laaloo Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 One thing people forget is that it's neither easy nor fair to move kids who are in schools in the US/AUS/UK and are old enough to feel the difference. My father used to work for a Bank and I moved cities every couple of years and never had any issues, in fact we looked forward to it but its not the same when moving from US to India. I think if you have young kids around 4-5, it wouldnt be difficult. Of course if depends how badly you want to go back. If you REALLY want to go back, you will find a way back.

This can be ideal for someone moving from abroad back to India.
Jersey #10 Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 I moved out of India when I was 13. Now I'm 25. I for one would never move back. I've only visited India once for 15 days in those years. I have no intentions of revisiting in foreseeable future. This is home to me
Clarke Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 One shouldn't run away from most of India by locking oneself in post communities, in fact you cannot do so, you're better off living in the west and sending money as remittance, really helps the country pay its bills. If u do move back, accept your homeland for what it is and try and stick to your ethics & principles the best u can.

Agree, investing money in India (stocks etc) for nris, pios is a very easy n very good option. (Living in a gated community is just one option. Plenty of non-gated localities out there which are livelier and traditional if u like and are good enough compared to western standards. Money can buy everything)

My brother who got settled in New Zealand couldn't stay here for more than a week when he came back for our sister 's marriage. He has his priorities and I don't blame him for it. I'm not leaving India even if I get a chance. That's for sure. I have traveled a lot and visited some of the best places in the world with my family and friends, but I can't think of settling down in some western country. Of course money helps , but I don't know. My brother had different priorities, he was always fascinated with western life style and civilization. When he got a chance, he couldn't let it go. I just want to take care of our family business, take a break whenever I could, travel a lot. Maybe do some charity work for inner peace. Lets see.
