New age bats and big hitting

This is a theory I have been developing for some time now. One of the impacts of new bats is that proper batsman who have good techniques are becoming great hitters. These are not power hitters but in 90s etc. would be good at hitting fours but not a lot of sixes. Now these players can just extend their normal good shots for sixes with less power. With their natural ability to time the ball and find gaps they can score at high SR. on contrary pure hitters who have poor techniques are still hitting big but with tendency to play risky shots get caught out in some time. Classic example is what happened yesterday with baz vs. guptaji So basically the value of big hitters is lower than before as even proper batsmen can easily score fast and with less risk. So what this means for our team. Basically we should not worry too much about lower order hitters as long as we have enough top order bats who can hit sixes and get 3-4 boundaries on trot Currently if one of kohli Raina or Rohit is there in last 10 it is ok.

Guptaji innings is exceptional once in a life time. Batting till 50th over is very tough. The thing is against Pakistan they batted till 45th over.. But last 5 overs we couldn't manage. Hope Dhoni practices his helicopter shot a lot in the nets. Jaddu, Ashwin all should practice calculated slogging.

Ashwin we should try to send up the order sometimes when there is need to stabilize. He really needs to evolve as a ODI batsman from where he is right now. Either he uses domestic matches and IPL to develop as a hitter or try to become a genuine top order batsman. In both cases needs to work on his fitness

Modern day batsmen are much fitter and more powerful than before.

We lack power-hitters a la Maxi, Coriander, etc. Amongst Indians who played more than 30 matches, I can't think of any apart from Sehwag and Yusuf who had 100+ SR and an avg of 25+.

He keeps expecting full ball and they bowl short of length which he can't get under.

Excluding the genuinely quick bowlers, I wonder if Dhobi can counter it by rushing forward. If they are going to keep blocking his strengths, he must find some way around it.
