When he started tuk tuking excessively I knew he would play a rash shot and perish. Play every match like any other match and play your natural game - Dhoni does this very effectively. Kohli's natural game is not to get 1(13) and this is clear evidence that he choked.

Even against Pak and SA he was pretty slow off the blocks. It's just that we were chasing 328 and he had to get a move on. This is what scoreboard pressure is all about and why you want to bat first and put up runs on the board.
MCGGG Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 I think not having the ODI captaincy played on his mind, the way the team improved after he was made test skipper it was a no brainer to make him ODI skipper as well, Dhoni should have been dropped from the side after the tri series, his form was horrible.

Sad miserable loser people may not believe my words, but rohit sharma is a person who will make an excellent captain. rohit is a kind of person who thrives when loaded with responsibilities. otherwise, he is similar to a bull, which roams free, and free bulls are very dangerous.

In the end, got under pressure to play a big shot and chased the short ball where he was not in control at all. Needed a better presence of mind like the rest of the Indian batsmen. Yes, this clearly shows his technical flaw, against high rising deliveries. That's why I still believe that he won't make a good test batsman, despite those 600 runs in oz this year. Rahane may have problem against shot pitch, those snorters of steve finn, but, he won't get out, and once he is 20+ and survives those early scare in test, he makes sure that he has reached century mark.

I never liked India playing against sri lanka, because, players like raina etc always score heavy against them, and then, they are considered for marquee tours in the main cricketing areas such as rsa, australia etc. Until and unless India will not defeat the big teams, in their backyard, they won't be considered a champion side.

Bashing lankans. kohli is a proper sub continent basher. Subcontinent teams don't have bowlers who can ball those high rising deliveries upto his height/ Johnson's ball got him out. Though, he is still not out, but still, a long long way to prove that he is a class act. Yes, mentally he is tough.

Raina at #3 Kohli at #4 Dhoni at #5 Power hitter a #6 Open with Nohit / Rahane and Dhawan Rohit- Dhawan, and Rahane. In fact, rahane is a master class, he needs a long run. We have two class batsman, rohit and rahane. Though rohit basher won't agree.

His record in ICC knockouts is quite abysmal already. No, he has a tehcnical flaw. English bowlers are master in exploiting this. Just feed him outside the offstump. Anderson got him out so many times.

What's your beef with Raina playing in limited overs cricket.If he did not step up against Aus, how about the other big guns like Rohit, Kohli and Rahane who also could not step up. If you consider winning against Aus and SA only as championship material, why didn't the champion Steyn did not step up in SF to win the match for SA. These things happen.Raina is the hardest worker in the team who tries to overcome his short coming and is one of the best power hitters we have, along with good fielding.

This is the same Raina which helped India win QF and SF in 2011 WC.
