It is good that the Indian players are winning it for them. Any IPL, you need the Indian players to step up to win it. Bisla, Pandey etc.

That was one bad chase yesterday. Its 4 of (Rahane, Samson, Nair, Binny) that is a major batting problem. These players will take time to settle and won't take on the bowling. If all those 4 players are your first 5 batsman, RR will lose 9/10 times chasing any +160 score. They got very lucky against DD due to Hooda heroics, but that won't happen each time. They made a mess out of yesterday simply chase of 130. Thus, Watson is very important as he will add the power in the top batting order. Yet, if Watson comes, then Faulkner becomes your 3rd fast bowler, and he simply isn't good enough to be the 1st bowling change. Right now the team is more balanced in bowling than batting. Watson coming in will improve the batting, but the bowling balance will suffer. So it's a dilemma.
I wrote that earlier and it has turned out correct. Faulkner as 3rd bowling option is simply not good enough. And any 160+ score, RR will usually struggle. Their best bet is to bat first, which will allow the Indian batsman to take their time to settle. Batting 2nd, you don't have such option often. And with Watson as a caption, RR tends to stumble under any pressure. They need a better player who can handle the crucial match moments. Smith certainly seems a better option.

Bad performance. RR don't deserve to qualify, conceding 100+ runs in 7 overs in not good enough. This season has strong resemblance to last season where RR looked good yet totally collapsed in the ending stages of the tournament. Now remaining games, against 2 quality teams,CSK and KKR, I fail to see them winning any match. As expected, Watson had his predictable struggle against swing bowling. And Rahane/Nair are not the same players when chasing. They need time to settle which you won't have any when chasing. So another 160+ score, and another loss for RR. RR needs to bat first if they win toss.

May struggle to even qualify now 5/5 and then 4 points from next 7 games :hysterical::cantstop:
Their bowling was much better with both Southee and Morris in . Now with Watson they are regularly wasting batsmen and bowling become distinctively average as well
