randomGuy Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 Atleast I have been "gracious" all along - http://www.indiancricketfans.com/showpost.php?p=3296555&postcount=115 http://www.indiancricketfans.com/showpost.php?p=3296563&postcount=118 Wahab's spell has been one of the highlights of the WC though.
jonas10 Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 Why is that the only factor that needs to be substantiated ? One big difference between a Wasim and a Wahab is that , even though Wahab is quicker and capable of a magic spell occasionally....he lacks consistency in performance whereas Wasim Akram could bowl well spell after spell and match after match. That is what makes a true champion. If you compare the ODI performances and wicket taking abilities of Shami and Wahab....Shami has 87 wickets from 47 matches @ 24.9 average whereas Wahab has 77 wickets from 54 matches @ 30.2 average. Who is the better ODI wicket taker ? As I said stats are irrelevant. You need to compare genuine fast bowlers. Shami cannot do what Wahab does. You might as well compare wickets and averages with spinners. We know he isnt Wasim Akram but every honest India would way rather have Wahab than Shammi on their team. LOL agarkar has better stats than akram if youre being selective as well. Point is Akram had that X factor agarkar always lacked.
jonas10 Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 nope you are wrong. 4 overs dont make a test match. sorry boss, your paki cricket team are loosers.:winky: Sorry I know it kills you but Wahab can do something no one on the Indian team cannot. LOL im a paki cricket fan? :giggle: Read some of my posts in other threads.
Vilander Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 Sorry I know it kills you but Wahab can do something no one on the Indian team cannot. rkt.india Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 Surprised nobody has mentioned Boult's spell against Aus in their group match. To me that was the spell of the tournament coming against the best middle order in world cricket. That wasnt great at all. Got lucky with those played ons on a slowish pitch. Starc's spell in the same match was the best.
randomGuy Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 Sorry I know it kills you but Wahab can do something no one on the Indian team cannot. LOL im a paki cricket fan? :giggle: Read some of my posts in other threads. Also, Wahab can do something that no one else in Paki team can. :dontknow:Indian fast bowlers are better than Ehsan, Rahat and Sohail (w/o even looking at their WC record). How about Pakis being gracious in accepting this?
midge Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 Wahab Riaz's hostile six-over burst against Australia has been hailed as the spell of the Cricket World Cup by Sachin Tendulkar Sachin Tendulkar has hailed Pakistan paceman Wahab Riaz for producing the standout bowling spell of the Cricket World Cup. In an interview with the International Cricket Council (ICC), India great Tendulkar - an event ambassador for the World Cup - said: "One spell that stands out the most, according to what I saw, is definitely Wahab Riaz's spell. "He didn't pick up many wickets in that spell, but [what] a spell to watch. To me, I think the spell of the tournament. Those kind of performances stay with you forever." Tendulkar highlighted a number of other impressive individual performances during the six-week tournament, reserving praise for the likes of Martin Guptill, Chris Gayle, Trent Boult, Tim Southee, AB de Villiers, Mitchell Starc and Kumar Sangakkara. "We all enjoyed those performances," added the 41-year-old. "Fifteen years down the line you will be talking about these innings and these spells." Source: http://www.sportal.com.au/cricket/ic...b1a4c9i432bmjb ----------------------------- Indians, your GOD has spoken. Nice article in response to some people on here speaking against Pakistani bowling. Come on lads :) Thank you Tendulkar. If only your fans were as gracious. Really Enjoyed Wahab's spell. He was fired up and made Watson look a tail-ender.
Thalaiva Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 Hey Saliva' date=' you are sitting in Chennai and merrily bashing away India. You must a Lungan, Paki or Bangbro illegal immigrant. Wahab is a mediocre bowler who can produce two over bursts once in a while, while Shami is much more consistent. Which is why Shami averages 25 and Wahab 32.

CSK Fan Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 Ok, this is what I think People love a tragic hero. No one is going to pat Aussies on their back and praise them to the skies. They will just say Clarke was great, Starc has been outstanding and move on However, in poor teams, one outstanding player will stand out. Sanga was getting heaps of praise. Sachin used to get (dare I say) sometimes more than his share of praise in the 90s. Why? Because a decent player stands out in a poor team So it is not just a well done champ thing, but it is, wow this team is P!ss poor but this guy is good, kind of thing. Wahab's spell was the only world class thing in the entire tournament for a shambolic Pak team. So it stood out and all the praise is like encouraging the one bright student in a school for the delinquent.

LOL agarkar has better stats than akram if youre being selective as well. Point is Akram had that X factor agarkar always lacked. Shami has been outstanding for 2 years now. Any sane person will pick him. And no, just one or two spell does not show that Wahab has this in him all the time (just like Ishant's one spell of 7-fer to change the England test did not prove anything) What exactly can Wahab do? Cricket is full of examples of once in a lifetime spell (or knock) by some players on occasion. Doesn't mean Wahab has it in him to do it again
adi B Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 Surprised nobody has mentioned Boult's spell against Aus in their group match. To me that was the spell of the tournament coming against the best middle order in world cricket. that was nothing special, didnt swing a lot, most of those wkts were just due to poor batting.maxwell, marsh played like tools and chopped onto their stumps, clarke hit straight to the fielder, those were nothing deliveries. the best spell of the wc was by far southee's 7fer(exhibition of great swing bowling,4 wkts were absolute peach, unplayable deliveries) and starc's 6fer(brilliant exhibition of yorkers and bouncers)
adi B Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 The only fact that needs to be substantiated is that Pakistan has fast bowlers that can put on spells like wahab. Show me mohit or shammi doing the same. With them it's all contain contain contain. They certainly don't have the ability to unleash hell like wahab does. Hence Pak fast bowlers have an x factor ability Indians lack. Yes I'm a closet paki cause I also say they got the worst batting fielding in the world no leadership or wicket keeper. Btw all those factors make India look even better than they are bowling. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk did u get bit by a paki bug?

LOL agarkar has better stats than akram if youre being selective as well. Point is Akram had that X factor agarkar always lacked. Now...from where did you come up with this gem? Even if we are talking ODIs... Wasim Akram has 502 wickets from 356 matches..average of 23.5...economy of 3.9 Agarkar has 288 wickets from 191 matches @ 27.85 average and economy rate of 5.08. Comparing their test records is a joke...Akram has an average of 23.6 and Agarkar 47.3 ..enough said. Akram had the w factor...he picked up loads of wickets. Don't know about x. Regarding Shami and Wahab... If I am picking an ODI team then I would pick Shami anyday before Wahab....because he is a superlative wicket taker in this format....and although he is a bit slower than Wahab ...still Shami bowls fast enough at 135 to 145 k. He bounced out your own Younis and Misbah this WC. Wahab bowled a great spell this WC but lacks consistency. I think that most Pakistanis will agree to this. If I am picking a test team then I won't pick either. Captains want consistent wicket takers...not x factor bowlers. That is why Wahab has not been a regular in the Pakistan team.
thongale Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 ass clown there are about 5 million of them there..cause you kill each other' date=' often in a gruesome manner.[/quote']Ha ha, that was created by Indira Gandhi by giving mopney and ammunition to a p[sychopath from Nothern Sri Lanka. And get your fecking maths correct. SL has a population of 22 million, and it's only 350,000 living in camps in TN. 5 million, gimme a ****ing break mate! Funny to notice why go guys illegally come to Sri Lanka by boat and get treatment and even attend clinics of Jaffna hospital (SL the health service is free). Since last year they have started checking IDs of all patients to see whether they are Sri Lankan, because so many kalla thonis come to Jaffa and Point Pedro hospitals to enjoy free health service of SL.

I got the numbers wrong there are 5 lakh not 50 sl tamil refugees in TN,it was in correct from me the 5 mil number. SL is a 'friendly nation' so Indian navy does not intervene in the fishermen problems, there is a sense here that the Indian fishermen are at fault, they keep going to kachatevu based on age old fishing paths and are not accepting the cede of that area to Sl by Indira ( which was brokered to keep Sinhalas from killing the Indian Tamils in Kandy the way you guys killed off your own Sl tamils in Jaffna ). For a buddhist nation you guys are pretty violent. Its good that you guys give ID's to indians and treat them cause we do the same for your people. We f'n train your army as well..so yeah there are 5 f'n lakh of your people in our country, you should make sure they are safe in yours first, reconcile and live together. India will be the last country to support TE cause we do not want Kashmir to cede either.
