amiret Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 Seven policemen were killed and 10 injured in an ambush by Maoists in the hilly terrain of Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district on Saturday, one of the worst attacks by the rebels in recent months. “We lost seven jawans. The encounter took place in the remote interior inhospitable area. The injured jawans are being airlifted to Raipur by chopper for immediate medical attention,” additional director general of police (anti-Maoist operation) RK Vij said. The condition of two injured policemen was described as critical. There was no report of casualties among the rebels. Officials said a gun battle broke out when the 61-strong Special Task Force squad was ambushed by about 100 Maoist rebels in the south axis of Dornapal-Chintagufa area, where several ambushes and killings of security personnel have taken place in the past. amiret Posted April 12, 2015 Author Posted April 12, 2015 The policemen injured in a Maoist ambush in Chhattisgarh's Sukma district have questioned the manner in which a small force was sent into a rebel stronghold for a search operation and the lack of reinforcements during a fierce gun battle that killed seven of their colleagues. Sanjay Lakda, another of the injured, wondered why a small squad was sent for a cordon-search-destroy operation in an area known as a hotbed of the Maoists. Was the State Govt or the Central Govt responsible for this suicide mission ? Brig (retired) B K Ponwar, an expert on guerrilla warfare, too questioned the manner in which the operation was mounted. “What was the mission of this operation, who planned this operation and with so much force available in the area, what was the follow-up undertaken to recover the weapons or nab the rebels?” he said. As usual the MSM is not questioning the State or Central Govt.

May 25 2013 : 25 Cong leaders and Security personnel killed in Bastar Jul 2 2013 : 6 Police Killed in Dumka , chattisgarh July 17 2013 : 3 jawans killed in goh , Chattisgarh Nov 27 2013 : 4 CRPF killed in Bijapur , Chattisgarh Feb 28 2014 : 5 police killed in dantewada , Chattisgarh March 11 2014 : 16 CRPF jawans by maosist in Sukma, Chattisgarh Dec 1 2014 : 14 CRPF in sukma , Chattisgarh If you had cops being slaughtered in this manner in USA or UK . The MSM would be up in arms. Political heads would roll. But in India the lives of CRPF Jawans don't seem to matter much .

The injured cops are not questioning the MSM , since the MSM does not make life and death decisions. The injured cops are questioning the leadership . People of India should also read the statements of the ex-Director General of CRPF about the state Govts culpability in Maoist affected regions.

amiret Posted April 12, 2015 Author Posted April 12, 2015 China.RIP to our bravehearts It seems incredulous that China is able to supply Arms and Ammunition to thousands of Maoists in Chattisgarh and is able to sustain these supply lines for over a decade and the State Govt is incapable of doing anything . Last year the CRPF and the Police busted a few Maoist gun factories . These maoists seem to be firm believers in "make-in-India". Central security establishment sources said Odisha had already put the plan in process and may soon advertise its surrender policy for Maoists through BBC radio. Cadres are suspicious of All India Radio (AIR) as it's government owned. BBC radio over the years has done reporting from the Naxalite heartland in Chhattisgarh. For several years, they had a reporter in Bastar. The channel aired views from both sides of the divide. Thus, Maoists trust BBC more. Both in Chhattisgarh and Odisha, Maoist cadres listen to BBC," said a security establishment officer. Until now, state governments have been advertising their surrender policies through local newspapers, posters in Naxalite areas, pamphlets and word of mouth. UPDATE : Four security personnel were killed and seven injured on Monday after armed Maoists blew up a military vehicle in Chhattisgarh’s Dantewada district, in the fourth rebel attack in three days in the strife-torn Bastar zone. Armed guerrillas triggered a powerful improvised explosive device (IED) carrying over 50 kg of explosives that tossed an anti-landmine vehicle carrying 11 jawans of the Chhattisgarh Armed Force in the air, police said.

Former prime minister Manmohan Singh described the rebels as India’s greatest internal security threat. Almost a year later, several members of his Congress party were killed in a deadly strike in Chhattisgarh.. Imagine if 76 Cops in the USA are slaughtered in a single ambush by the drug cartels , what do you think would be the Public and MSM reaction in the USA ? In April 2010 , 76 CRPF officers/jawans were killed in a single ambush by the maoists in this same Dantewada district in Chattisgarh . It was in the news cycle for a few days and then predictably faded away. No candle-light vigils , no public protests. No hyperventilating , hysterical news anchors. Is there even a memorial for the fallen ? I doubt it . This was the statement from then HM Something has gone very wrong," a sombre Chidambaram told reporters outside his North Block office. "They seem to have walked into a trap set by the Naxalites (Maoists). Casualties are very high. I am deeply shocked." If the CRPF jawans are walking into these traps and being ambushed frequently ....Then the leadership must be brainless OR The leadership is complicit .
amiret Posted April 14, 2015 Author Posted April 14, 2015 When Maoists ambushed a team of special task force (STF) personnel in forests of Pidmal in Sukma on Saturday, the injured jawans hammered away alerts on tracker device seeking help, but reinforcements reached very late. "There was a big delay even though the SOS was sent minutes after the ambush," injured STF constable Arvind Sharma told TOI at Jagdalpur hospital. "When we realized the team had been ambushed, I pressed the button on tracker device which works like an alarm indicating that firing has begun and the force has been ambushed. It directly alerts police headquarters and STF base camp at Baghera in Durg district," So if the STF Base camp and Police headquarters were alerted immediately , why did they not respond swiftly with re-inforcements ? injured jawans walked continuously for 13 km after sustaining bullet injuries," :facepalm: Another injured jawan, Ranjeet Singh, said more than 400 Maoists ambushed them and he failed to understand why such a small team of 49 STF jawans was sent to an area dominated by rebels. If the Jawans on the ground who are facing the Maoist terror are questioning the inadequacy of the operations , then there is something terribly wrong with the leadership .
Number Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 Need total overhaul of strategey to fight these guys. Heard that a lot of CRPF guys don't even have bullet proof vests. That's serious not adequete.
