Ironhide Posted April 13, 2015 Author Posted April 13, 2015 Kumble - I am not sure he was that fast but I think I saw Ashwin or some offies, left armers getting big numbers. Some slow bowlers got big numbers too. I don't remember the instances which I have repeatedly stated in this thread. This shows the truth in your jackshit assumption, now either you are a kid who didn't see much of Kumble or just made another assumption here, Kumble often used to surprise batsmen by slipping down 100-110 KPH yorkers and he got many wickets in his career with that yorker of his.

Don't you what that means? Look up. As for my assumption, here's a 2012 ICF thread. http://www.indiancricketfans.com/showthread.php?t=282981

Proves my above post that you are a kid who didn't even see much of Kumble. So, Which part of my post did you not understand? you just started digging a hole for yourself and have now jumped into it by linking a 2012 thread which show few errors in speed guns like all International matches. Once again read the first post, understand the topic on hand here and make some positive/negative/relevant contribution instead of this filth.

Even then, those were just specific errors. If you look at an average speed of bowlers, I'm sure they wouldn't be too erroneous.

Here's what express bowling said and I agreed. The average speed readings or most of the speed readings are usually as correct or incorrect in both the IPL and in international matches. However....the frequency of the fastest delivery or couple of deliveries being quicker than the next fastest ones ....by 5 k or more ... is a bit more in the IPL. Happens sometimes in international cricket too...but at a slightly lesser frequency. This happening .....of one or two much quicker deliveries...increases the probability of those higher readings being wrong ...if a pacer is bowling. Sandeep bowled so many deliveries between 135 to 138 k....there can be no doubt about his higher speeds yesterday. He was looking visually quicker too. When i read I realized that may have contributed to my views and agreed and posted this. Express bowlng's post clarified it (and I mentioned it in my prev post as well). The frequency of higher speeds of some deliveries were much higher but average speeds were fine. When I read that' date= I realized that's what has been the issue and the possible cause for my assumption. Afridi is different from all. Him clocking 110 or even 120 won't surprise anyone. He can be fast. Kumble - I am not sure he was that fast but I think I saw Ashwin or some offies, left armers getting big numbers. Some slow bowlers got big numbers too. Look at this ICF thread itself. http://www.indiancricketfans.com/showthread.php?t=282981 Some of the posts by members in 2012. First learn to understand what the other person is saying. I am not the only person who felt the erroneous bowling speed (which happens more frequently in IPL at the higher end but avg speed is fine). And I didn't state any time line. You watch a few seasons and opinion sticks. Mentioned that too earlier. And I am not the one derailing the thread. You guys asked me queries and I responded. Let's move on.
express bowling Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 Kumble often bowled quicker deliveries around 105 to 107 k. Some spinners have the abilty of bowling a couple of much faster deliveries. However , it is much rarer for a pacer to do so....although it happens sometimes. But this phenomenon is not common for a pacer. Someone bowling 130 to 135 k rarely bowls an one off 145 k.

Bingo, Nobody is arguing about his top speed or fastest ball recorded, the topic on hand here is that Sandeep Sharma is still swinging big and has also increased his pace by around 10KPH from 122-125kph range in 2014 IPL to 132-140 kph range in 2015 IPL with many balls bowled in the range of 135-137 KPH. He will make a good injury replacement and rotational bowling option for Bhuvi. Sandeep is also very young at 21 years of age and should improve his speed or skills further. Will appreciate relevant posts on topic instead of trolling from Paki suckups and other green tinted wrist slitters/ conspiracy theorists.
sensible-indian Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 lol....... Even after 1000s of posts mentioning it NOT being avg speed and acknowledgement of the fact (right from the first post) that Sandeep has increased his pace, you have an issue. Paki suckups? :haha:
Cricket_Hacker Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 Seems to be an improved version of BK,hope he continues from here and works hard to futher increase his pace.Foreign bowlers also start from similar pace when 19-20(like Boult etc) but grow much quicker unlike Indian bowlers. He swings the ball even in his 4th over which is rare to see.Could be a prospect in ODI(strictly as a new ball bowler)
sensible-indian Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 On topic, I think the following pacers need to be watched: 1. Sandeep Singh 2. Shardul (someone who follows domestic cricket told me he is very good in all tracks) Anyone else?

He should be given a few chances otherwise the domestic coaches will kill his hunger for improvement in pace as evident by his recent improvement and this interview of his: http://www.espncricinfo.com/indian-premier-league-2014/content/story/743087.html
Texan Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 That's great to hear. Perhaps we are underrating "trundlers" and some of them might actually be good enough to play international cricket.
BlueBee Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 I won't take IPL speed guns too seriously (they are a bit off) but considering he clocked low 120s with the same speedgun, this development is AMAZING for us. Hope he does well. What pace is Johnson actually bowling then?

Shardul (someone who follows domestic cricket told me he is very good in all tracks) Anyone else? Pawan Suyal, the left arm quick, looked very good. Combined pace with accuracy and bowled good bouncers and yorkers. Gave away just 22 runs from 3 overs in very high scoring match.
sensible-indian Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 Yeah that was me' date=' Enforcer Remember!![/quote'] I know mate. :cantstop: Didn't want to state your name from there cos it may be against forum rules. Awesome. Any chance he is close to international quality right now or needs time to mature? Domestic stats look decent.
Shivaji bhonsle Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 Pawan suyal has been ignored by our selectors ever since they selected him for India A team but he was injured and the selectors came into heavy criticism from selecting an injured player. I think this happened around 2012. He could have been as good as anyone. Unfortunate series of events kept him away from the team.
