Gollum Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 Quotes: - “Jihad is the duty of an Islamic government :hatsoff:... there is a government in Pakistan and it has always taken the stand that it is the right of Kashmiris to attain freedom. I say what our army will do to secure the right of Kashmiris is jihad... we extend help to Kashmiris alongside the Pakistani government... we call this jihad.†- “The waving of Pakistani flags in Srinagar has shown the whole world that Kashmiris don’t want to live with India. India has to give Kashmiris their rights. Is it justified to arrest Masarat Alam the way he was yesterday? He hoisted a Pakistan flag in Kashmir, not in Delhi. Kashmir is a disputed area :finger:, so nothing is wrong.†- Pakistan’s foreign office, too, released a statement condemning the “brutal use of force†in J&K. “Pakistan has consistently extended diplomatic, moral and political support to Kashmiris’ struggle for self-determination. Pakistan deplores the brutal use of force by Indian security forces against peaceful and unarmed Kashmiris,†it said. http://m.hindustantimes.com/india-news/will-support-pak-army-for-jihad-against-india-in-kashmir-hafiz-saeed/article1-1338577.aspx Further proof that JuD and the Pakistan Army are one and the same. Waiting for Adarsh Liberals to come to his defence claiming " What Hafiz Saeed ji said is nothing wrong, Jihad means peaceful endeavour against one's ego." :giggle: Enough of Aman kee Tamasha, proposed cricket diplomacy, Hockey India help to bail out PHF, Bollywood diplomacy etc. First the release of Lakhvi and now this, after Peshawar massacre I thought they had learnt their lesson about good terrorist, bad terrorist bakwaas. But no, 26/11 handlers walk free there spouting venom against India and having millions of sympathizers and supporters. 26/11 was a declaration of war on India, we must never forget those harrowing 3 days. And never ever ever allow them to play IPL,HIL until they take strict action against anti India terror groups in their soil, but that will probably never happen.
Sachin=GOD Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 An entire country obsessing over a piece of land for nearly 70 years - gotta give them credit for dedication :cantstop: On topic - Govt has to act tough here. Make sure that Masrat Alam is booked on solid grounds so he can't get out for a long time and then crackdown on the separatists - been tolerating them for a long time and NOTHING has come out of it. They're still as obstinate on all issues as they were years ago.
Cricket_Hacker Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 Even Musharaff has admitted to state sponsored terrorism...nothing new
AmreekanDesi Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 Newspaper didnt put the second line 'and lose like them too'
Shivaji bhonsle Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 That Masharat alam rally was a flop. A grand total of 4 thousand people attended that rally in which people were waving Pakistani flags. 15, 20 years back, people would attend such rallies in massive numbers.

They're still as obstinate on all issues as they were years ago. A serious question. Does keeping people like Geelani and Masrat in jail really helps in overall context? I am talking about people who are extremists but have never been found to be involved in direct armed fight or terrorist activities. There was sense of normalcy in Kashmir which seems to have broken in past week with these arrests. Couple of teenagers got killed. Same shouting and sensationalization of army brutalities have started. I agree with Mufti Sayeed's overall stated strategy of making seperatists irrelevant for common people. I am sure BJP is in agreement of this strategy at fundamental or principal level that's why they are part of the government. Was it really necessary to put that much pressure on kashmir govt to re-arrest Masrat to appease hawkish elements and put things on boil. If strategy of BJP-PDP govt is of making separatists irrelevant, this development is not in right direction.
Raghav_12 Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 That Masharat alam rally was a flop. A grand total of 4 thousand people attended that rally in which people were waving Pakistani flags. 15' date=' 20 years back, people would attend such rallies in massive numbers.[/quote'] Exactly. Then what was the need of his arrest? Now if Masrat has to do the same rally again today or tomorrow, I am pretty sure number of people would be much more than 4 k, because of what all has happened in last one week.
Khalpat Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 Exactly. Then what was the need of his arrest? Now if Masrat has to do the same rally again today or tomorrow, I am pretty sure number of people would be much more than 4 k, because of what all has happened in last one week. That is right. But look at the hyper nationalistic media of our country, Arnab Goswami will not look into this whole thing the way you see. It is his opportunity to show the patriotism. He will start with showing the clipping thousand times then start the question like how can a government let this kind of thing happen? and then he wil open the telephone lines where hundreds of people would give their opinion. This is our own country, we only have two options either ignore them let them shout and not get the footage or take strict action like open fire any other thing like arresting and all will make sure these people get their fame and the whole issue is alive for atleast next 10 years. Out of both ignoring is the best option, have a close watch on these people through intelligence but do not touch them.
Malcolm Merlyn Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 The separatists are becoming irrelevant by the day. They basically survive on dole outs from Pakistan. Mussharaff and Zadari are on record accrpting that Pakistan supports terrorism in India.
Sachin=GOD Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 The likes of Hafiz Sayeed are obviously doing all they can to destabilize Kashmir and having Masrat Alam etc out, instead of inside jails, can only help their cause. Also, while his support in Kashmir might be decreasing, I think Alam will find many sympathizers in certain places in UP, Hyderabad, West Bengal etc - in such a scenario would it be wise to let him be free to spread his anti national propaganda?

People who are too eager to prove their patriotism are dangerous for country and society. These elements have proliferated a lot because of ubiquitous media. Now if you don't share a photo condemning Pakistan you are not patriotic.
Sachin=GOD Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 Mussharaff and Zadari are on record accrpting that Pakistan supports terrorism in India. After accepting this have they or any other leaders/parties in Pak done anything to stop the flow of terrorism from Pak to India or maybe take some action against Hafiz Sayeed or has the Pak govt made sure that Lakhvi stays in jail and is not in contact with his 'friends' or have they provided any cooperation in the 26/11 trial?

Is there any evidence to suggest that Geelani and Masrat is trying to network with these elements outside Kashmir ? or these are mere speculations? My point is arrest should happen only if it helps cause of Indian intests in Kashmir.
Shivaji bhonsle Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 Exactly. Then what was the need of his arrest? Now if Masrat has to do the same rally again today or tomorrow, I am pretty sure number of people would be much more than 4 k, because of what all has happened in last one week. agreed.. But you will never know with such snakes. He was the main culprit in organizing anti India protests few years back and 100s of people got killed in the protests. Its better to put him behind the bars where he will spend his rest of his life.
Malcolm Merlyn Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 After accepting this have they or any other leaders/parties in Pak done anything to stop the flow of terrorism from Pak to India or maybe take some action against Hafiz Sayeed or has the Pak govt made sure that Lakhvi stays in jail and is not in contact with his 'friends' or have they provided any cooperation in the 26/11 trial? Why will they? Its their stated position that they support terrorism in India. And no mater what they say they will continue to do so.So its time India hits back.Only when they are hit back hard will they stop.Right now they believe that there is no cost for them for supporting terrorism in India. The Pak Army realised that they cant take on the Indian army.Their thinking that they will some how bulldoze through Indian army was broken. Then they got involved in the Afghan war and saw that proxy war is successful. They tried to replicate the same in India in Punjab and Kashmir and have failed, but they will continue to do that.Else the Pak Army loses its significance which they cannot afford to.

As Jaitley said - India has to make the cost of these 'adventures' by Pak unaffordable to them. I'm still waiting though - the govt's stand on Pak isn't really clear till now - they want to talk or take a really tough line - it'd not clear till now.
Khalpat Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 Off topic but just wanted to post here, There was a question on Quora by a Pakistani : Why is India so afraid of Pakistan, despite Pakistan being very small in size when compared to India? And then there was this brilliant answer by someone. 1. Because in the last 60 odd years, India entered Mars' orbit, and Pakistan is still trying to enter India. We are afraid we have a neighbor that refuses to think big (and in right direction). 2) We are afraid of Pakistan's English. Killer stuff boss! :p "We condom terrorist attacks" read one banner in Lahore, and more other places, including a few tweets. Your 'condom' for terrorists has been leaking very bad. BTW, on a serious note, we want Pakistan to do well and have good life, good education, good infrastructure and peace in the country. Your people are also humans and deserve a good social life. Live and let live. Stop brainwashing your kids and stop being a breeding ground for anti-India terrorists. We want a peaceful and harmonious neighborhood.

It cannot be done in one day.The Gujural doctrine destroyed India's covert capability in Pakistan.Only after 26/11 did the govt. started taking the building of covert capability in Pakistan seriously. We may be still couple of years away from having the capability to hit Pakistan covertly in response to a terror strike. Regarding what Jaitley said, well the response of Army and BSF to LOC firing was very fierce and that was acknowledged by Pakistanis also.Sartaj Aziz their NSA was running to UN to ask them to interfere and they also asked the UNMOGIP to interfere.Clearly they were hit where it hurts Similarly, god forbids, there is another Mumbai style attack,India must respond by suspending all treaties with Pakistan and start with the Indus Water treaty. 1.We have been building dams for a last few years on the rivers flowing to Pakistan. The Dams have far more capabiity to store water than they actually store. So wecan actually cut the water supply of Pakistan if the push comes to shove. 2.we can also deploy our strike corpes to the border, forcing Pakistan Army to deploy as well and then stretch them thin, and their internal conflicts will hurt them. 3.Ajit Doval is chief of India's Pakistan policy and he catagorically stated that if another Mumbai happens Pakistan will lose Baluchistan. The govt has to do a show of wanting to to talk with Pakistan, while building up its capability to strike back when needed.

jalebi_bhai Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 wow. So RAW has presence in balochistan ? I'm sure India has extended support to the Baloch Liberation forces in some way. If Pakistan decide to show their audacity again, that support will become more active.
