Srinivasan allegedly hired London firm to spy on BCCI officials: According to reports, N Srinivasan could be in fresh trouble with the BCCI. Apart from the issue of undervaluing the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) franchise, another issue that can land former BCCI chief in trouble is the issue of alleged spying on board members. Srinivasan had allegedly paid Rs 14 crore of BCCI's money to a London-based private agency to spy on other members, tapping their phones and tracking their e-mails. It is understood that the BCCI is expected to launch an official enquiry into the matter that will be headed by new secretary Anurag Thakur. The board will investigate why the former BCCI boss allegedly snooped on other members and who authorised him to spend the board's money for this purpose. The Working Committee meeting of the BCCI slated to be held on Sunday promises to be a stormy one as the new regime locks horns with former president Srinivasan's group over the gross undervaluation of IPL franchise CSK. http://m.timesofindia.com/sports/icc-world-cup-2015/top-stories/Srinivasan-allegedly-hired-London-firm-to-spy-on-BCCI-officials-Report/articleshow/47059109.cms Mama the real world James Bond :bigboss:

No sale, thus no valuation: Chennai Super Kings CHENNAI: The ruling group of the BCCI has alleged that India Cements has undervalued Chennai Super Kings to just Rs 5 lakh during the de-merger process to avoid paying a huge subsidy to the Board. There was a debate at the working committee meeting on Sunday in Kolkata where CSK's case was presented by lawyer PS Raman. Raman argued that there has been no sale of shares of CSK, nor has there been a change of control at Chennai Super Kings franchise. "Rs 5 lakh is the capital of the company, divided into 50,000 shares of Rs 10 each, to which India Cements will transfer the franchisee rights. It is not the valuation of CSK CL, instead it is capital of the vehicle which will receive the shares for onward allotments to private trusts nominated by the promoters of India Cements and other public shareholders of India Cements in the ratio of their holding in India Cements," a CSK source told TOI. According to the CSK authorities, the capital could also have been zero, but tax laws consider a zero capital sale as a gift. "It could have been any amount. It is only procedural. We could have kept it at Rs 10 lakh or Rs 10 crore. It is only procedural. There is no sale of change of control for anybody to seek an independent valuation," the source said. Clause 10.4 of the IPL franchisee agreement says that the 5% of the value can be sought by the BCCI if there has been a sale. In this case, there has been no sale and the de-merger was passed in the IPL governing council meeting on February 27, where Raj Kundra's selling slightly more than 7% of his shares were also passed. The BCCI had sought legal opinion from International Management Group and Amarchand Mangaldas, a leading corporate law firm, to clear the demerger process. The BCCI authorities are invoking clause 10.6 of the franchisee agreement which seeks conduct independent valuation of CSK to determine its 5% fee. "Clause 10.6 should only be invoked to determine the independent value of the franchisee if all the assets of ICL - cement, cricket, shipping, et all - are sold, to determine CSK's value separately. Here there is no sale, instead a transfer of holdings from one entity to another, without any change in management control. There is no reason why 10.6 should be invoked," the source said. http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/sports/ipl-2015/news/No-sale-thus-no-valuation-Chennai-Super-Kings/articleshow/47065474.cms
