The newly formed IPL Governing Council is not pleased with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) team valuation at a mere Rs.5 lakh as BCCI's rule states that five percent of team sale price goes to the board. But at CSK's present valuation, BCCI earns only Rs.25,000 from the team's sale. The present valuation of the Chennai franchise was determined by the previous council, which has been strongly objected by the new GC. It has been learnt that during that time no one objected to Rs.5 lakh valuation of the franchise and on Tuesday the GC met to ratify decisions made by the old council. According to independent valuations rate CSK as one of the most valued teams and also a US based consultancy had valued the team at over Rs.450 crores in 2014. I can't pay mallya's debts :(( That's remainds me of goundamani comedy, where he claims to be heir of an old orphan guy, expecting a fortune on his will, but turns out to be a debt ridden man

I don't understand how india cements shareholders will exactly be happy to see their subsidiary being under valued like that . There is nothing illegal in that though
ofcourse it is. Any asset needs fair valuation

Whatever valuation is used for a share transfer,in this case from India cements to its subsidiary,BCCI gets 5% of the amount. As Srini was merely doing all this hocus pocus to get around the Supreme Court he didnt want to pay BCCI 5% of the fair valuation and hence he valued CSK at 5L.The then GC headed by Biswal approved it and sent it to BCCI Working committee for final approval and now the new board has put its foot down.
