Sachinism
gonna miss sreesanth his aggression would have been awesome but not sure how he would have handled abuse from the aus crowds Link to comment
Guest HariSampath
Well....a little bird has just emailed me...selectors have been asked by India team management to take a closer look at Pankaj Singh and also Praveen Kumar....breathe easy thalil...theres hope yet... I vote Pankaj Singh....built well, rhb, nippy and gets genuine caught behind/edge dismissals at almost 140K and after all plenty of first class wkts....surely that MUST mean something, on our pitches LOL take a look at the above......I got this spot ON. Sehwag too...against ALL odds, I got spot on !! I had also said KKD will be retained ( despite my preference for Parthiv ) :yay::yay::yay::dance: Link to comment
Mr. Wicket
Best of all: He Who Shall Not Be Named (in an Indian test XI) has not been picked to tour! :yay: :yay: :yay: Link to comment
The Outsider
Shwetabh' date=' i am glad you arent the selector. Its such a random (irresponsible if u were the selector) thing to say that ZK and RP wont breakdown during the aussie tour.[/quote'] Of course, I am not saying it with certainty but money would be on them to get through the series. Guest HariSampath
thaleel....double celeb for us....and as a reward, I strongly absolutely demand that my OP on Sehwag be upgraded to an article...Anil READ it ( by email), and I heard about Sehwag's selection directly through him. Cheeka too was strongly pitching for Sehwag here on ICF.....Against ALL odds, TWO ICFrs have MADE it happen !!!!:hysterical::yay: Link to comment
Guest HariSampath
With NO qualms I demand the status as ICF's SUPREME selector......GO Viru...GO Anil !!!:cantstop::yay: Link to comment
talksport
Just a thought.... Dravid might have a strong input into this... after all he is the strongest supporter of Sehwag Link to comment
Laaloo
no agarkar :((:((:nervous::nervous: how will we lose the series now and get rid of all the seniors :cantstop: Link to comment
maggot_brain
Sehwag being picked is just the best news ever. He needs to deliver big time now. If Jaffer and Sehwag can get our innings off to a good start and take the pressure off the middle order we might actually stand a chance of getting good scores. My only concern is the bowling attack especially with Sree. Link to comment
guju24
:yay::yay::yay::yay::yay:shewag in....... Link to comment
Predator_05
Sehwag will play for sure. Let Yuvraj warm the bench. He can come in if one of the middle order bats are injured. Link to comment
Sachinism
it would be difficult to let him open i would rather have dravid or a specialist opener yuvi is better suited to batting in the middle overs Link to comment
coffee_rules
I am skeptical about Sehwag. He might not feature in the first test. He will play Perth definitely. We need a blazing start there. Link to comment
talksport
Thank You Selectors.... Now up to ICC Signs looking good for the series win Link to comment

Guest HariSampath
Boxing day Test 11 With Sehwag's selection, interesting possibilities are open for the playing 11 for the Boxing day test. I feel that we should select a 11 that has best chances of getting a big score as quickly as possible, and most importantly take 20 wkts to win the game. Aussies have traditionally won most of the series when they have won the first test, and hence we should not be playing for a draw. If the selection of Sehwag is any indication, Kumble is all for forcing a win as evident from his various press statements. My playing 11 for the first test would be. 1. Sehwag 2. Jaffer 3. Tendulkar 4. Ganguly 5. Yuvraj 6. Dhoni 7. Kumble 8. Irfan or Bhajji 9. Zaheer 10.RP Singh 11. Ishant sharma Yes, I would leave out Dravid and Laxman from the first 11, Laxman because he may not recover soon enough, and Dravid because he is the least in form in midle order. Or if an additional batsman is required, I wouldn't mind if Bhaji or a seamer ( left arm) is dropped for possibly Dravid or laxman Link to comment
Guest HariSampath
The name is Sehwag....Virender Sehwag :D ( with license to kill Aussie attack) Link to comment
Predator_05
If everyone is fit, India will definitely line-up like this; Sehwag, Jaffer, Dravid, Tendulkar, Ganguly, Laxman, Dhoni, Pathan, Kumble, Zaheer, RPS. 12th man; Yuvraj After seeing how well Ganguly bowled in this series, they won't play 5 bowlers.
