He's wimp with a strike rate of 30 or less. All the clamour when he was dropped for the ODIs' date=' like he's untouchable or something. I just can't stand him, he's boring. Boring in interviews, boring to watch when batting.[/quote'] Yes, he is boring as f*ck but his slow poke approach has fetched him 9500+ runs @ 56 in a career that has spanned more than 10 years. Can't complain.

Motu is a baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad selection. I hope I am wrong 100% & motu does something useful otherwise we a goner 4-0. As it is, I reckon we may get away with a draw in 1 match and the result will be 3-1. I have a very bad feeling about this tour downunder - I have never had such a feeling before.

Sehwag might get the nod ahead of Yuvraj perhapz with his bowling too.. u never know.. Sehwag is offcourse the best part time spinner who can be used often in test cricket.. he bowled really well when we toured windies last year..
Excellent bowling by Yuvraj today. He is much needed and he shouldn't open. He should bat in middle order...Its abt time the serniors sacrificed a lil and get out of their comfor tzone to accomodate a promising youngster or this is selfish.Similar views expressed on cricinfo.

Yes, Dravid's sluggish and boring as hell. Hey, isn't that what the Poms were saying about Kallis, or Boring Boring Kallis as they called him? How much does HE average? And for that matter, how many runs did Dravid's paint drying methods fetch HIM? Boring Boring Draw-id indeed.

Yuvi or Sehwag... it will be decided on the performance of the practice match... i will pick sehwag..australian pitches are best suited for his style of game.. he will rock in australia...
lolllll...aus pitches r much to the liking of yuvraj instead.

Motu's selection is based on what his competitors' talent was. Given how Chopra and Gambir would have fared, Sehwag would not have fared worse. Only thing going for Sehwag was he had done well there in the past. Kartik had done well in England. So experience is chosen over risk of new selection. VRV/AA should have gone instead of IS. But IS has shown something special. Being Tall and intimidating is rare for an Indian bowler.

Dravid is a must in all 4 tests.. i m not sure what was harisampat thinkin when he left Dravid out for boxing day test..
Tics....although many others are criticising me with NO basis..I draw your attention to 2 facts: 1. On ALL threads, I had been advocating that Dravid SHOULD get one test in Aus, even if his form and recent record is the worst of the famous Indian middle order. I had also argued that he should NOT be compelled to open. This is further strengthend by Dravid's own words on being asked about opening ..today.. he said " we will see...if necessary..."etc.. not exactly enthusiastic..but absolutely correct, and what I had been saying too..play him for one test at 3 and see. 2. I had advocated leaving out Laxman or Dravid IF India dont want the extra batter for boxing day test..but if not...I had also said in the same tone, depending on the fitness level of Laxman, Dravid or Laxman should be the xtra batsman, and if Dravid , NOT opening. So, my stand is 100% consistent with earlier stands by me, team requirements, and also fairness to Dravid.

Am glad Sehwag is back. If he does well in the tour game (scores anything in excess of 40), he opens with Jaffar, Yuvraj sits out. Else Dravid opens with Jaffar & Yuvi comes in. Rest of the batting lineup is the same. I'll go with ZK, RPS, Ishant as my three seamers & Kumble as the lone spinner. Sehwag/Yuvi (whoever plays), Tendulkar, Ganguly will be the 5th bowlers. Methinks, India will likely go into the Boxing day test with Sehwag as the opener for two reasons: 1) Dravid may not like to open 2) Sehwag has had success at the MCG last time he played there.

My XI for the Boxing Day match is.. 1. Virender Veeru Sehwag 2. Wasim Jaffer 3. The Rahul jammy Dravid 4. Sachin The Great Tendulkar 5. Saurav lucky Ganguly 6. VVS Special Laxman 7. Mahendra Deepika Dhoni 8. Irfan Swing Pathan 9. Anil Rock Kumble 10. R P Swing 11. Zaheer Majnu Khan In my team..our batting goes till number 9...which we will need when we have to score 500-600 runs.. TWO Fast bowlers...ONE Fast bowling arr rounder ..ONE Specialist Spinner ...ONE part time spinner ONE part time seamer... our bowling is set.....wicket taking responsibilities will be in RP Swing and Kumble... with Rest of the support cast pitching in with their efforts... i believe we have the fire power to take 80 wickets in 8 innings...

I am saying the same thing as you,l but for ONE difference ; that is, Sehwag is competing for an opening slot which is pretty sad now and Dravid is competing for a crowded middle order, with plenty of high scoring batters lately...so Sehwag fulfills a better team need while Dravid's value add is (relatively ) less, as there is a very high performing middle order. Of course the facts too: that Dravid has been faring rather poorly...315 runs in 12 inngs..compared to other middle orders... and Sehwag is just making a comeback when other options have failed ( KKD, Gambhir etc).

I cant believe there are thoughts of leaving Laxman out of the 11. Are you guys freakin serious? his injury isnt even that serious. Who gives a sh*t if Yuvraj scored that 169, that doesnt mean he can replace a sublime bastmen like Laxman who has performed so well in Australia and judging by the last 2 series. Last 2 Series By Laxman averages: England: 51.25 and Pakistan: 209.00 One of the top batsmen in form. No doubt in my mind he should be batting at number 3, he doesnt have to make way for no one. Yuvraj can keep the bench warm because he can dream to take to Laxmans place till Laxman retires out of his own unpressured will. Maybe Yuvraj can do it the cheap way and kick him out by politics, like ganguly did back in the day when he forced Laxman out of the ODI team My Line up 1. Wasim Jaffer 2. Virender Sehwag 3. VVS Laxman 4. Rahul Dravid 5. Sachin Tendulkar 6. Sourav Ganguly 7. MS Dhoni 8. Irfan Pathan 9. Anil Kumble 10. Zaheer Khan 11.RP Singh/Ishant Sharma Benchwarmer: Yuvraj Singh
