G_B_ Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 Talking of corruption.....this news is coming out of Maharashtra: Fadnavis has demanded an explanation. Good thing they gave a minor ministry...
Raghav_12 Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 anybody chossing any option other than NCP actually putting question marks on their understanding of Indian politics.
Sachin=GOD Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 anybody chossing any option other than NCP actually putting question marks on their understanding of Indian politics. NCP has done it in 1-2 states and that too for less than 20 years. Congress had been doing it for decades and in every single state in the country. All other parties learned political corruption from congress only..... and many of the corrupt leaders of these regional parties were once congress members. There is hardly any bad practice in Indian politics which was not started by congress. As I said earlier, there is no contest at all - congress wins this hands down.

As I said earlier' date=' there is no contest at all - congress wins this hands down.[/quote'] Congress will have maximum corruption done because of it's area of coverage and duration for which it has had opportunities to do corruption. But if you talk in terms of corruption density or average corruption per politician (ACP), NCP wins hands down. Considering their size and area of influemce the numbers they have managed to generate are just amazing.
G_B_ Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 Well i guess most of the NCP folks were basically congress members at some point. Only in 1999 did the NCP form. People like Ajit Pawar etc have been eating since congress days.

Considering their size and area of influemce the numbers they have managed to generate are just amazing. But the thing is, as you said, Congress has been doing it all over the country for decades that is why IMO Cong is easily the most corrupt party in India. Well i guess most of the NCP folks were basically congress members at some point. Only in 1999 did the NCP form. People like Ajit Pawar etc have been eating since congress days. Yeah. That's what I'm saying - they learned corruption from congress and then continued it after forming NCP.
G_B_ Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 Its basically the maratha caste sugar cooperative lobby which split from the congress in the region of western maharashtra which is the NCP today.
G_B_ Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 and i think the problem with the NCP is. Corrupt people of the congress joined the NCP. They have never really been out of power. Formed in May 1999 by October 1999 they were in power in the state and have basically been in power at either state or centre till about October 2014. So they had a mentality that come what may we will be in power so nobody is going to keep tabs on us anyways. When these people were with the congress there was some check from high command on their activities. Under Sharad Pawar it became a free for all. The problem for the NCP was a lot of their members did corruption under the guise of sugar cooperatives. In the 1990s all of a sudden they found that the Sena with their control over the BMC despite not being in power were earning more simply through their unions. Ie they were operating in a high profit margin territory of mumbai. Sugar cooperatives were on their way down as a source of income. So they decided to fan out in every other avenue and eat lots of money when in power. The biggest mistake the congress did in maharashtra was they let the NCP have money making ministries. They paid the prices for it eventually as the NCP irrigation scam cost the Congress the most in Viderbha (a place where the NCP has no presence)
mishra Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 ^ I use, Bollywood movies as one of measures to show Indian society/socio-econimic iisues in a particular decade. Before nineties, Most movies had fictitious villans inspired by ideas KALA BAZAARI, Corporates, Socialists. The main villain was like Sukhi lala, Mogambo or Gabbar. We never had politician directly shown as a villain. But Dawood and politician nexus started changing the mindset of people and image of politicians took a big hit after 1993 Bombay blasts. Since then a lot of movies have been made and politicians has been shown to sitting on top of D company or is real villain. And a lot of people including myself believe that all these bollywood movies have the politicians inspired by Sharad Pawar.
dial_100 Posted June 24, 2015 Author Posted June 24, 2015 Guys.. please do not post news in this thread. Discussion is okay but news will make it hard to follow. Let people quickly read through this thread before they vote. If we start to post news, it will get a lengthy thread.
gslv Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 Where is BJD , last few years lots of scams have taken place in Odisha , mining scam , chit fund scam . Just bcoz Nabin is not involved doesn't mean others aren't .
mishra Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 SP is filthy in terms of corruption. As CM of state at the time, He tried to blame LTTE for the blasts by claiming that there was a blast in some Muslim area, The blast never happened. Infact later he claimed that misinformation was to contain riots. I wonder how this guy is still roaming free, and how media never asks him any question? Infact to top it all, He is now in the business of moneymaking gentlemans game
dial_100 Posted June 24, 2015 Author Posted June 24, 2015 ^ I get sick even while thinking of him. I cannot stand him at all.
