youngindia Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 A medicare player who can never succeed against quality teams like SA and Australia the selectors and ex players only care about balance and options...what happens to winning matches against starc and co? meh! how can indian cricket progress with short sighted incompetents of this caliber the right approach for a top team is to place premium on world class matchwinners..the 80-'s side was a mid tier side and can do with average players like madan lals and binnys..not these days the galling thing its the no hopers like vinay and binny who are selected ...uthappa who is an exceptional striker of the ball has been ignored all these years..partly it may be his fault and his injuries didn't help..but he was worth special attention the long list of short term fake allrounders continue.

We should be testing out players properly and quickly to know who stands where.

Let Binny have a consistent run in ODI's and prove himself. There is not need to drop him because you want your favorite in there.

There is not need to drop him because you want your favorite in there. Hardik Pandya is actually a good potential choice for the allrounder position in LOIs. He can bowl 140+ km/h and seems like he is a good hitter. Binny is a decent batsman but more often than not he bowls rubbish. To add to that he is already 31 years old. Very soon we will need to find a better replacement. That being said, Binny looks to be better than Jadeja (as a batsman, and we need a batting AR) so he should be picked over Jadeja.

Then Hardik is not the guy you are looking for. His domestic teams don't have faith in his bowling and you want him to be picked for his bowling in international cricket? Let him bowl a full FC season and then we will assess his bowling. If he can be decent in List A and FC for a season, then he can be serious contender for the Indian team spot.
