Now who would they be in Bangladesh ? The Comparisons with SL are fine but I think a lot of quality Test Cricketers were also emerging from SL at the same period. On Odi Level , they might just be equal but in Tests there is no comparison.

It has taken BD more than 15 years to win substantial matches in one dayers that too at home. Now BD will get respect from opposition when they play at home. May be they should stick to one dayers and give up Test matches.

You mean even if one player from minority don't play well...BCB should pick him or you shall see it as 'less opportunity' towards so called minorities. Or you can say 'discrimination'. It has taken BD more than 15 years to win substantial matches in one dayers that too at home. Now BD will get respect from opposition when they play at home. May be they should stick to one dayers and give up Test matches. may be india should also stick to playing test in the subcontinents only ....:giggle:

Srilanka was very good from the get go in Test unlike BD. Zimbabwe was very good too at home in Tests in the 90s. Slowest growth can be associated with BD.. If you look at records for most consecutive losses in ODIs/ Tests you would see BD win those records hands down.

If you look at records for most consecutive losses in ODIs/ Tests you would see BD win those records hands down. SL and ZIM werent great even at home. They won a few Tests but mostly drew. BD draw about half their home tests since 2013, if we win a few we'll be there. Plus 80s and 90s were different era in terms of professionalism and fitness. Fat guys like Merv Hughes opened Australia's bowling compared to shredded guys like Johnson or Starc.

Bengali Hindus have suffered a lot in Bangladesh through religious animosity and political upheaval. I'm glad to see some of them making it to the top. You'll never know the pain so kindly stfu. Ask many Kashmiri pandits...I'm sure they would be glad to see someone from their community getting the equal opportunity representing J & K.

Executioner Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 I am still a minor but I don't think that Hindus are opressed in our culture. Nope, not at all. They get their fare share of oppurtunity. In Bangladesh, we don't look down upon one another on the basis of religion. There is still a decent amount of Hindus in the country who may be opressed but these are in tribal and/or rural areas. In the cricket world, we have had our fair share of Hindu cricketers representing BD alone on the basis of performance. They were later discarded like others due to poor form and such. Soumya, Litton are getting chance because they deserve it. Ethnic or Religion is not given 2 cents about

Not just that Soumya came in the mainstream mainly because of his talent not that he had super success in domestics like Litton. If Texy's thinking is right then Soumya wouldn't have been in the team at first place. But I am not completely agree with you Executioner. Yes, Hindus are less oppressed here in BD compared to PAK, IND. But it's not pass mark either. Take this comparison. (Not JOKE) Suppose 33/100 is Pass mark. And for Secularism.. INDIA will get 75/100 PAKISTAN will get 0.5/100 BANGLADESH will get 30/100. (2001 incidents, 2007, 2013/14 and obviously 1991 Barbie masque ) Yes so BD is slightly better. But overall if you make a grade out of it then its..FFail. All are FAILED. Corrected
