The idea isn't to prevent Pakistan from not qualifying for the Champion's Trophy but to give West Indies a proper opportunity to qualify.

Half of them dont give a toss, would gladly represent an IPL franchise over their own side and they are absolutely useless in all formats bar t20. Throw in some massive ego's and hacks like Pollard and I struggle to see anything to like. Holder is the only guy on the team who plays with some semblance of passion, shame he's surrounded by such terrible cricketers

Plenty of Indians would rather play IPL than play test cricket

West Indies asked India for a favor and because they helped BCCI out when they required it, BCCi is more than keen to grant it
