Detonator Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci-icc/content/story/907811.html Batting rankings 1 Joe Root, 2 AB de Villiers, 3 Steven Smith, 4 Hashim Amla, 5 Kumar Sangakkara, 6 Angelo Mathews, 7 Younis Khan, 8 Kane Williamson, 9 Chris Rogers, 10 Virat Kohli Bowling rankings 1 Dale Steyn, 2 Stuart Broad, 3 James Anderson, 4 Trent Boult, 5 Yasir Shah, 6 Vernon Philander, 7 Mitchell Johnson, 8 Rangana Herath, 9 Tim Southee, 10 Morne Morkel Thought Kohli must be ranking atleast at top 5.
SLICKR392 Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 After the Aus series, Kohli should have seriously been ranked higher.
Bigg Brother Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 For me Rahane should be in certainly in top 5.
amiret Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 well deserved . But ABDV will reclaim his top spot soon. Also Steve Smith is better player on Subcontinent pitches. The top 3 deserve their spots and are as good any any batsmen that have played in the last 15 years.

HippoSucks Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 Umm...no' date=' he's not?[/quote'] Better than Root, not de Villiers.
Vijy Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 Root is the man in form, genuine form. He's averaging around 80+ after the Ashes; that probably outdoes Stewie and ABDV.
SLICKR392 Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 Better than Root' date=' not de Villiers.[/quote'] Think he meant better than Root.
HippoSucks Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 Smith is back on top with Root at #3. Rahane and Kohli should be in the top 10 for Sangakkara and Rogers from tomorrow.
Vijy Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 Smith is back on top with Root at #3. Rahane and Kohli should be in the top 10 for Sangakkara and Rogers from tomorrow. Hmm.. I wonder why poor Rogers should be demoted after having done so well for Aus - the most consistent batsman for them in the Ashesh (although Stewie scored more).
gakgupta Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 Smith is back on top with Root at #3. Rahane and Kohli should be in the top 10 for Sangakkara and Rogers from tomorrow. I will vote for murali Vijay to be in that list pretty soon
Vijy Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 I will vote for murali Vijay to be in that list pretty soon If Vijay scores heavily on home pitches, he can make that list.

Once they retire they are taken off the list. Unless you are asking why Rogers dropped from #9 to #10 today, which is probably due to Warner scoring 80 odd (and the difference in points between him and Rogers being so little).

Thanks for the clarification.
