ShebbySB Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 My playing XI would be like this:- Dhawan Vijay Pujara Kohli Rahane Saha(Wk) Ashwin Akshar Mishra Umesh Ishant Reserves:-Rohit,Rahul,Binny,Aaron.
HippoSucks Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 Dhawan Vijay Rahane Kohli © Pujara Saha (WK) Rahul Ashwin Mishra Shami Ishant Backup: Rohit Yadav Kumar N Ojha Assuming Shami is fit by then.
BeautifulGame Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 I would prefer Vijay Dhawan Pujara Kohli Rahane Rahul (wk) Jadeja or Binny Ashwin Mishra Shami Yadav Squad : Bhuvi , Nair , Saha , Binny , Ohja But most likely Dhawan , Vijay , Rohit , Kohli , Rahane , Binny , Saha , Ashwin , Mishra , Ishant , Yadav Others : Harbajan , Rahul , Pujara , Aaron Won't be surprised if Rohit returns to. no.3 once we return to the comfort lands of flat Indian wickets
Vijy Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 Should pick: Dhawan, Vijay, Pujara, Kohli, Rahane, Saha, Ashwin, BK, Mishra, Shami, P. Ojha what we will get: Dhawan, Vijay, Rahane, Kohli, Nohit, Binny, Ashwin, Mishra, Ishant, Shami/Yadav
Bigg Brother Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 Playing 11 should be, Vijay Dhawan Rahul/Pujara Kohli Rahane Saha Jadeja/Binny Ashwin Mishra Shami Yadav Don't know why but I still miss jaddu in tests, specially in sc remembering that Australia series. He will have to perform in t20s and odis to strengthen his case.
Iconoclast Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 Dhawan Vijay Rahul Kohli Rahane Binny Saha Ashwin Mishra Shami Yadav India need to win 4-0 ... so after Pakistan sweep England and then India we will be number 111!!!!

When we whitewashed Aus, they had only 2 quality players of spin - Clarke and Smith. Of this, former was saddled with back injury and in a lean run of form while latter was just finding his feet. In contrast, both ABDV and Amla are gonna be very solid, with able backing from du Plessis and others. Pace-bowling wise, Morkel and Steyn are quite good even on SC pitches.

Vijy Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 Don't worry Bhai .. BCCI will create seamers graveyard and Saffers haven't got no capable test spinner. Will be interesting to see SA's spin composition
Bigg Brother Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 Will be interesting to see SA's spin composition Simon harmer is ok. Tahir can create trouble.Duminiy is more than a part-timer.
Iconoclast Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 Will be interesting to see SA's spin composition They didn't play Tahir Bhai in Bangla for some reason .... it would be a mistake not to bring him to India.
Vijy Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 They didn't play Tahir Bhai in Bangla for some reason .... it would be a mistake not to bring him to India. T-Bhai is not a good Test spinner; they may still revert to him because of lack of options but he is too impatient and tries too many things per over. Of course, given the weaknesses against spin shown by Indians (Moeen, Lyon, etc), he might still prove to be effective. This is why Chepu is needed in SC conditions; possibly also Nair who is rated by people here as a fine player of spinners.

adi B Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 Dhawan Mooli Chepu Kohli Rahane Saha/rahul Jadeja Ashwin Mishra Yadav Shami Rest: nohit, aaron, bhuvi, pishant,p ojha

ShebbySB Posted August 24, 2015 Author Posted August 24, 2015 Axar for tests? You got to be joking. Y nt?
Vijy Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 Y nt? Statistically, he's not a bad choice. 3rd spinner should play holding role and Axar's FC ER of 2.27 suggests that he can do that (also has low ER in ODIs). Moreover, has a batting avg of around 40 in FC. But, these stats don't reveal everything. For starters, 3rd spinner should also take wkts and Axar doesn't strike me as capable enough. Secondly, despite high FC batting avg, he is very clearly not international class.. more of a glorified tail end slogger.

If we play a 3rd spinner it'll be a dustbowl 7 he'll be a handy option better than Jadeja plus he bats alright so we can play 5 bowlers in Ashwin,Him,Mishra,Ishant & Umesh.

If Jaddu gets back to pre-surgery levels, he is a better bowler and better batsman than Axar.
