Rohit is talented. Its just he can't play any role in ODIs. He doesn't know how to be a long innings specialist like gambhir or kohli, he can't be a finisher like yuvi or dhoni, he can't play aggressive cameos like sehwag. He can't play clutch shots down the order like raina. He is no good for ODIs and his talent has nothing to do with it. He just doesn't know how to play a role.

Long innings in ODIs is different from a long innings in test. For example scoring a century with a strike rate of 75 in a average ODI would be considered slow, scoring one in test would be considered aggressive. Im not saying he should be playing test either but he clearly is useless in ODIs. Why the selectors refuse to see this is mind boggling. He's played 8 times as many matches as rahane and pujara never even played. Is his potential that much better than those 2 players?
